The successful candidate will be part of a Valuation Team covering a large geographical part of the valuation area and/or dealing with a particular group of subjects in a professional manner. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Forward plan/schedule workload and priorities to meet statutory deadlines. Provide advice and guidance to staff in valuation matters, both domestic and non-domestic. Undertake valuations of all classes of non-domestic properties for rating purposes. Carry out detailed survey and measurement of all types of properties. Assist with the Electoral Registration functions of the department as required. Deputise for the Senior Valuer as and when required. Assist in the preparation of schemes of value. Any other duties the Divisional Assessor may from time to time determine. Essential: Formal professional qualifications e.g. BSc in Estate Management. Professional Membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Experience in survey and valuation of property. Good analytical, valuation and negotiating skills. Effective report writing skills. Competence in Microsoft applications including Word and Excel. Excellent interpersonal and written skills. Driving licence and access to a car. Desirable Understanding of the workings of local government. Understanding of the Assessor's relationship with government bodies and other agencies. Experience in an Assessors Department. Knowledge in the law and practice of Valuation for Rating and Council Tax. Understanding of Best Value. Organisational and procedural knowledge of how CSVJB operates. Customer Service experience.
