Air Hygiene Technician Location: Southern Region - ideally based around Swindon / M4 corridor Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Job Type: Full-time, permanent About the Role We are recruiting an Air Hygiene Technician to join a growing team delivering specialist ventilation hygiene, inspection and maintenance services across commercial premises. This is a hands-on, field-based role involving work at customer sites across the southern region. You will help ensure ventilation systems are clean, safe and compliant with relevant industry standards. Previous air hygiene experience is advantageous, but candidates with a background in HVAC, mechanical maintenance, construction, commercial cleaning or other practical technical roles are encouraged to apply. Full training and opportunities to develop specialist skills will be available. Key Responsibilities Carry out ventilation ductwork cleaning and hygiene services in commercial buildings. Inspect and test fire dampers, recording findings and identifying any remedial work required. Install access doors and panels to provide safe access for ventilation system inspections and maintenance. Clean and disinfect kitchen extract systems and associated ventilation equipment. Assist with the inspection, cleaning and maintenance of air handling units (AHUs). Carry out corrosion treatment and other ventilation maintenance tasks as required. Follow relevant industry guidance, including TR19 where applicable, alongside company procedures and health and safety requirements. Complete site reports, inspection records and other job-related paperwork accurately. Maintain professional working relationships with customers and site teams. Work safely at height and in restricted-access areas, following appropriate training and procedures. Travel between customer sites, with occasional out-of-hours work and overnight stays where required. About You We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and keen to develop their technical skills. You will ideally have: Experience in a hands-on role such as HVAC, ventilation, mechanical maintenance, construction, facilities maintenance or commercial cleaning. Previous air hygiene, ductwork cleaning or fire damper experience - desirable but not essential. A good understanding of health and safety and safe working practices. Good attention to detail and the ability to complete accurate site records. A professional approach to customer service and communication. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. A willingness to learn new procedures and undertake relevant training. A full UK driving licence. Flexibility to travel across the region and occasionally work outside normal hours. Training and Development Full role-specific training will be provided where required, with opportunities to gain specialist experience and develop a long-term career in ventilation hygiene and maintenance. Additional Requirements The successful candidate will need to complete the relevant pre-employment security checks for the sites they will attend. Depending on the assignment, this may include an enhanced DBS check or higher-level security vetting.

Job Specification: Quantity Surveyor Location: County Durham Sector: Civil Engineering - Water, Drainage & Wastewater Infrastructure Job Type: Full-time, salaried The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team delivering civil engineering projects within the water and wastewater infrastructure sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional to play a key role in the financial management of infrastructure projects, supporting successful delivery through effective cost control, accurate valuations and strong contractual management. Working closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors, project managers and site delivery teams, you will help maintain financial control, maximise commercial opportunities and ensure compliance with contractual and company procedures. Key Responsibilities Measurement & Valuation Measure works completed on site and from technical drawings. Prepare interim valuations and final accounts. Ensure valuations are accurate, commercially robust and submitted on time. Monitor the value of completed works and support effective cash flow management. Cost Control & Commercial Reporting Assist with monitoring project costs, budgets and financial performance. Prepare cost value reconciliations (CVRs) and subcontract liability reports. Support project forecasting, cost tracking and financial reporting. Identify potential commercial risks and opportunities to improve project margins. Contribute to achieving agreed project financial targets. Contract Administration Administer subcontract agreements in accordance with relevant contract conditions, including NEC. Support the management of variations, compensation events and changes to scope. Maintain daywork records and change documentation. Assist with the preparation and administration of contractual notices. Subcontractor Management Support the procurement and appointment of subcontractors. Assess and process subcontractor applications for payment. Assist with payment notices, final account negotiations and account agreement. Maintain accurate subcontract records and monitor commercial performance. Change & Variation Management Ensure variations and changes are identified, recorded and valued appropriately. Monitor provisional sums and associated expenditure. Maintain supporting documentation to support cost recovery and audit requirements. Work with operational teams to ensure all commercial changes are captured. Project Support & Stakeholder Management Work collaboratively with Site Managers, project teams and other stakeholders. Monitor project progress and identify the commercial impact of programme or delivery changes. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to maximise project income. Support Senior Quantity Surveyors and the wider commercial team in achieving successful project outcomes. Record Keeping & Compliance Maintain accurate, up-to-date commercial records. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, internal procedures and reporting deadlines. Support commercial audits and governance requirements. Keep relevant stakeholders informed of progress, risks and key commercial matters. Candidate Requirements Qualifications & Experience Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant qualification and experience. Approximately five years' experience in a commercial or Quantity Surveying role. Proven experience within the construction or civil engineering industry. Sound understanding of civil engineering construction processes and procedures. Knowledge of standard forms of contract, particularly NEC and/or JCT. Experience in measurement, valuation, cost control and subcontract management. Experience within the water, wastewater or wider infrastructure sector would be advantageous.
