The business specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke architectural glazing solutions, working across commercial, residential, healthcare, education and other major developments. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Designer to join their design team. The Role As a Designer, you will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and design information for a range of architectural glazing and façade projects. You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Estimators, clients and other members of the design team to ensure projects are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with programme requirements. Key Responsibilities Producing detailed technical drawings for architectural glazing and façade systems Designing curtain walling, windows, doors and associated aluminium systems Developing designs from concept through to manufacture and installation Preparing fabrication and installation drawings Reviewing architectural and structural drawings Liaising with clients, contractors and internal departments Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, specifications and project requirements Supporting the wider design team throughout the project lifecycle Identifying and resolving technical issues during the design process Maintaining accurate project documentation and design records About You The ideal candidate will have previous experience within architectural glazing, curtain walling, aluminium, façades or a closely related sector . You will ideally have: Experience working within a façade, glazing or aluminium design environment Strong knowledge of curtain walling and/or architectural glazing systems Proficiency in AutoCAD The ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings Strong technical understanding and attention to detail Good communication and organisational skills The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines A willingness to develop your technical knowledge and take on greater responsibility Experience with Kawneer systems or other major aluminium system houses would be advantageous. Lead / Senior Designer Glazing & Curtain Walling Location: Erith, London Salary: £56,000 £63,000 Working Pattern: 4 days per week in the office Type: Permanent About the Role Our client is looking for an experienced Lead / Senior Designer to join their design team based in Erith. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced glazing or curtain walling designer who is looking to take the next step in their career, with a clear pathway into design management . You will take a leading role in the design and technical delivery of glazing and aluminium packages, working closely with project teams, clients, architects, suppliers and subcontractors. Pre-Construction Manager / Assistant: Assist with the coordination and management of pre-construction activities from tender through to project commencement. Prepare and review cost estimates, material take-offs, and procurement schedules. Support tender submissions, subcontractor enquiries, and supplier quotations. Coordinate design information, technical documentation, and project programmes. Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams. Monitor project budgets, risks, and timelines to support successful project delivery. Maintain accurate project records, reports, and contract documentation. Ensure compliance with company procedures, health and safety requirements, and quality standards. Assist with the compliance documents reports for the submissions of upcoming BSR submissions Assisting with the population of IRS/RFI/Drawing registers Assisting design team with Façade system queries/technical questions with system providers Time to time minute taking in project specific design / progress meetings General support to current pre-construction team Key Skills & Competencies: understanding of pre-construction activities (preferred) Ability to interpret architectural/construction drawings (preferred) Experience in completing material take offs (preferred) Excellent organisation and time management skills Excellent record of record keeping Proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint Confident with liaising with management/designers/project managers Attention to detail when reviewing documents Understanding of CDM/CWCT/Façade standards (preferred)

This is a key role for an experienced construction professional with strong technical and design management experience, particularly within projects subject to the Building Safety Act (BSA) and Building Safety Regulator (BSR) requirements. The successful candidate will have strong practical experience with the Gateway process , including Gateway 2 and Gateway 3, and will be confident managing design compliance and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
