The business primarily works across Fife, Lothians, Perth & Borders and delivers a variety of earthworks, roads and drainage projects for main contractors, developers and private clients up to the value of 3m. First Task Professional are working with a rapidly growing Renewable & Heating contractor to recruit a Senior QS to join their team in Glasgow. This business is aligned to a number of Commercial Clients, Local Authoirities and Housing Associations and delivers Solar, Insulation and Battery installations across Scotland. Along with their domestic clients, this business will see their revenues increase to 40m for the financial year. They have a strong delivery team, and are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the contracting part of their business Responsibilities Manage all aspects of subcontracting, including tendering, negotiation, and contract admin (4-7 live projects at any given time) Prepare and submit valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts Conduct cost analysis and prepare reports to provide management with visibility into project financials Work closely with project teams to ensure accurate project cost forecasting Evaluate and manage risks related to subcontracting and project costs Experience Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on subcontracting management and cost control Strong knowledge of construction contracts and relevant legislation Excellent negotiation and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Being the first QS into the business, you will have the opportunity to shape and mould how the business operates, and implement commercial procedures and a structure that works. The successful candidate will take the lead on the delivery of a long-term maintenance contract within the Grangemouth complex, alongside additional civils packages awarded throughout the region. This is a key role with responsibility for managing delivery teams, ensuring safe and efficient project execution, and maintaining strong client relationships within a live operational environment. You'll play a key role in programme planning, stakeholder management, budget control and project delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and customer service. The Role You will: Lead the delivery of a programme of construction and infrastructure projects. Manage project teams, Works Managers and delivery staff across multiple live projects. Develop and maintain project programmes, resource plans and risk registers. Oversee project budgets, forecasting and financial performance. Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, health & safety legislation and statutory requirements. Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and key stakeholders. Monitor project performance, reporting against milestones, programme and cost. Support the development of future works programmes and continuous improvement initiatives. We're looking for someone who can demonstrate: Proven experience managing multiple construction or infrastructure projects. Strong leadership and people management skills. Experience delivering projects throughout the full project lifecycle. Excellent stakeholder and client management abilities. Sound knowledge of CDM Regulations and construction health & safety. A recognised Project Management qualification (HNC, NVQ Level 4, PRINCE2, APMP or equivalent). Experience managing budgets, programmes and contractor performance. Excellent organisational, communication and IT skills.
