This role will be primarily office based with occasional visits to site, with some flexibility to work from home as required. The desired candidate should have prior experience working in the fit out and refurbishment sector and be confident in managing variations on the project as part of design and scope changes. Freelance Site Manager - Office Fit Out Project Start: End of March Duration: 12 Weeks Project Value: Approx. 500k We are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee a full CAT B office fit-out project valued at approximately 500k. This is a 12-week contract starting at the end of March. The Role: You will be responsible for managing all on-site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The project involves a complete CAT B office fit-out, so proven experience delivering similar projects is essential. Key Responsibilities: Day-to-day site management and coordination of trades and subcontractors Health & Safety management and compliance Programme management and progress reporting Quality control and snag management Client and stakeholder liaison Ensuring works are delivered to specification and programme Essential Requirements: SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) CSCS (Black or Gold card preferred) First Aid at Work Extensive experience delivering CAT B office fit-out projects Strong organisational and communication skills Proven track record of managing projects circa 500k Desirable: Ability to hit the ground running Experience working in occupied buildings Strong subcontractor management skills This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and hands-on Site Manager with a strong fit-out background.

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Assistant Site Manager for a project based in Edinburgh (Central). This contract will run until a minimum of November 2026. First Task Professional are working with a leading, national specialist subcontractor to recruit a freelance Quantity Surveyor on a major project in Cardiff City. This contract is for an initial 5 months, but there are other projects coming online, should the successful candidate be happy to travel. Expectation from client is to be based on site 3 days a week, home/office 2 days. Key Responsibilities Cost management and commercial control across live project Preparation, assessment, and agreement of interim applications and valuations Managing variations, change control, and any compensation events Supporting procurement activities and subcontract management Assisting with forecasting, cost reporting, and cash flow management Preparation and negotiation of final accounts Ensuring compliance with contract terms, procedures, and internal governance Working collaboratively with delivery teams Requirements Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within large subcontracting or main contracting environment. Strong knowledge of NEC & JCT contracts Excellent commercial awareness and stakeholder communication skills Eligible to work in the UK
