Local Authority Housing Solutions Officer, South West London Pay rate to £26.56 per hour Contract role, Local Government Housing We are recruiting for an experienced Housing Solutions Officer in South West London The purpose of the role is to work proactively and collaboratively with households who are homeless or threatened with homelessness to provide comprehensive advice and assist them to prevent their homelessness by retaining their current housing where possible, or otherwise to help them to relieve their homelessness by helping them to secure alternative accommodation. You will agree practical and reasonable steps for the Council and the household to take to prevent and/or relieve homelessness. Households will include private or social tenants, home owners, those evicted by family members or facing relationship breakdown, and may be vulnerable and/or have complex needs. It will be the responsibility of the post holder to ensure that all performance targets are met, promote the profile of the Council's services and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and support the Team Manager by contributing to the overall development of the service. This is a contract role, and you will need experience in a Local Authority Housing team Housing Officer Based in Kingston - Managing patch 800 Require an experience Housing Officer with at least 2 years housing management experience in general needs. Key Responsibilities Resident Engagement: Visit all new tenants in their homes to explain tenancy conditions andidentifyany vulnerabilities or additional needs . Ensure regular communication and engagement with residents through estate inspections, customer surgeries, and home visits. Tenancy Management: Manage a variety of tenancy-related matters, including succession, assignment, discretionary re-housing, and management transfers.Take actionon issues such as anti-social behaviour, illegal occupation, and breaches of tenancy agreements . Housing Management: Conduct regular estate inspections and follow up on issues affecting residents. Conducting tenancy audit, PCFRA/PEEPS Identify and recommend estate improvements and work with internal teams to ensure a coordinated approach to Housingmanagement . Supporting Vulnerable Tenants: Work closely with vulnerable tenants to ensure their needs are met, making referrals to supportservicesas necessary . Legal and Enforcement Actions: Prepare and serve legal notices, including Notices Seeking Possession and Notices to Quit. Prepare cases for court, draft witness statements, and represent the council in legalproceedings Knowledge on Housing regulator consumer standards and Awabb Law About you Experience: Proven experience in managing complex tenancy issues within a social housing context. Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to addressing resident concerns. Knowledge: Thorough understanding of housing and anti-social behaviour legislation.
