Join Our Team as Site Manager at Arlesdene Nursery School & Pre-school Are you proud of creating safe, welcoming, and well-maintained spaces? Arlesdene Nursery School & Pre-school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Site Manager to join our friendly team. This permanent role is for approximately 4-6 hours per week, 43 weeks per year, with the possibility of a split shift, occasional weekend work, and additional hours when required. We hope our new colleague can join us from February 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with proven experience in site management, caretaking, or a similar practical, maintenance-based role. This role suits candidates of any age, ideally living locally. We're Looking for Someone Who: Has relevant experience in site management, caretaking, DIY/maintenance, or a comparable hands on role Is reliable, positive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team Can organise and prioritise their own workload Is flexible, approachable, and has good communication skills Has knowledge of key health and safety requirements-or is willing to learn Understands the operational needs of a busy school environment Can undertake minor repairs and general maintenance confidently Is competent with basic IT (e.g., email, Microsoft Office) Ideally has their own transport and a clean driving licence Is willing to attend relevant training (e.g., health & safety, asbestos awareness, ladder safety) What You'll Be Doing: Working closely with the Headteacher and School Business Manager, you will help ensure our school environment is safe, tidy, and welcoming for children, families, and staff. You'll support us in meeting all health and safety requirements and keeping our site running smoothly. (Regular cleaning is carried out by our contract cleaners.) Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and may be arranged by telephoning the school on or emailing . This post is classed as having a high degree of contact with children and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. An DBS enhanced disclosure will be sought as part of Hertfordshire County Council's pre employment checks.
