Skilled Labourer / Multi-Trade Operative Trainee Location: South East Birmingham (Solihull, Shirley, Marston Green, Sheldon, Bickenhill, Tyseley) Salary: £30,000 £35,000 (depending on experience) Type: Full-time, Permanent, PAYE Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday 8am 5pm) Overview An excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor specialising in residential property repairs and insurance reinstatement works. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop a career in the trades, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of repair and maintenance projects. Ideally you will have some labouring experience or multi-trade experience. Work is in the Midlands but also across the UK so some travel/overnight stays will be required (travel allowance/overnight allowance paid). Skilled Labourer / Multi-Trade Operative Trainee Role Assist skilled tradespeople with day-to-day repair and reinstatement works Carry out basic multi-trade tasks (e.g. minor carpentry, patch plastering, basic plumbing) Support property repairs following insurance claims (flood, fire, escape of water, etc.) Ensure work areas are safe, clean and compliant with health & safety standards Travel to residential properties and support works on-site Assist with installation of kitchens, bathrooms, doors, flooring, and other fixtures Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety regulations Communicate effectively with homeowners, office team and other trade colleagues What We re Looking For Some experience in construction, labouring or property maintenance Experience working on insurance repairs to residential properties Willingness to learn and develop multi-trade skills Good work ethic, reliability and positive attitude Basic understanding of health & safety on site Full UK driving licence (held for at least 2 years) Essential Willingness to travel as required. As you will be liaising with clients/homeowners you will need good communication skills and be well presented. A DBS check will be required.
