Intermediate / Senior Fa ade Designer Location: Hybrid or Remote Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Job Type: Permanent We are currently recruiting for an experienced Intermediate or Senior Fa ade Designer to join a well-established business operating within the fa ade and building envelope sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a fa ade designer looking to develop their career or an experienced senior designer seeking greater responsibility. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of rainscreen cladding, glazing and fa ade systems and will be involved in delivering detailed design solutions across a range of projects. Depending on your level of experience, you will either work as part of an established design team or take greater ownership of projects, with the opportunity to manage your own design workload and provide practical, technically compliant solutions. The Role Your responsibilities may include: Producing detailed design drawings for rainscreen cladding elevations, details and subframe systems. Producing drawings and schedules for curtain walling, windows and doors. Providing sketches and design input to support tenders and technical proposals. Developing practical and cost-effective technical solutions for complex fa ade details. Attending design meetings with clients, architects and design teams. Managing and actioning design meeting requirements within agreed timescales. Assisting with the production of design programmes and monitoring progress. Tracking drawing submissions, progress and programme delays. Revising drawings in response to architectural and client comments. Producing material schedules for procurement and ordering. Uploading and managing project information through document management systems. Undertaking site surveys and attending sites when required. Providing technical support and design input to the estimating team. Communicating design proposals and technical solutions to clients, architects and site personnel. Working collaboratively with the wider design and project teams. Taking increasing ownership of projects and delivering detailed design within agreed timescales. About You We are open to candidates at Intermediate through to Senior level, with the role and level of responsibility tailored to your experience. Ideally, you will have: Previous experience within the fa ade industry. A good understanding of rainscreen cladding and glazing systems. Knowledge of relevant Building Regulations. Understanding of CWCT standards and fa ade systems. Experience producing detailed design drawings and working to project programmes. The ability to develop practical technical solutions to complex details. Good communication skills and the confidence to discuss designs with clients, architects and site teams. Experience carrying out site surveys would be advantageous. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and BIM. Experience using document management/portal systems. A full driving licence. For candidates applying at Senior level, we would expect a stronger track record of working independently, managing design programmes, coordinating with clients and architects, and taking ownership of projects from initial design through to completion. Job Description: Facade Designer / Cladding Designer / SFS Designer We are looking for an experienced Facade Designer / Cladding Designer to join our growing team and play a key role in the design and delivery of high-quality building envelope and cladding projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer with experience in cladding, facades, rainscreen, curtain walling or other building-envelope systems who is looking to develop their career within a successful and growing business. The Role You will be responsible for producing accurate and practical design solutions from concept through to manufacture and installation. Working closely with project managers, engineers, architects, clients and installation teams, you will help ensure projects are delivered to a high technical standard. Your responsibilities will include: Producing detailed 2D and 3D facade and cladding drawings. Developing design solutions in accordance with architectural, structural and project requirements. Producing fabrication, manufacturing and installation drawings where required. Preparing layouts, elevations, sections, details and setting-out information. Reviewing architectural and structural drawings and identifying design issues. Liaising with clients, architects, engineers, suppliers and site teams. Supporting the development of technical and construction details. Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, specifications and project requirements. Assisting with material take-offs and design information for procurement and manufacture. Supporting projects from initial design through to completion. About You We are looking for someone who has experience in facade, cladding or SFS design. You may currently be working as a: Facade Designer Cladding Designer Architectural Technologist Building Envelope Designer CAD Technician / Design Technician Curtain Wall Designer Rainscreen Designer Technical Designer Experience with AutoCAD, Revit or other relevant CAD/BIM software would be advantageous. You should have good attention to detail, be technically minded and be comfortable working to deadlines while managing multiple projects. Most importantly, you will have a practical understanding of how facade and cladding systems are designed and constructed.
