Construction Estimator Milton Keynes 3 days per week - Pro Rata 100k Our client is a well-established and highly respected construction business with a strong track record of delivering quality projects across multiple sectors. As part of their continued growth strategy, they are launching a new division and are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to play a key role in its development and success. The Role As the Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for a variety of construction projects. Working closely with senior leadership, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, you will play a vital role in securing new work and ensuring projects are commercially viable from the outset. Continuity is essential as they look to grow their portfolio of business as well as a follow a clear commercial plan. Given the nature of the role and the growth plans for the division, you will have the opportunity to become a trusted advisor within the business and contribute to the strategic development of the estimating function. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and tender submissions. Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation. Carry out material take-offs and quantity calculations. Source and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers. Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities. Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams throughout the tender process. Support negotiations and project handovers to operational teams. Develop and maintain strong supply chain relationships. Monitor labour, material, and market costs to ensure competitive pricing. Contribute to the development of estimating processes within the new division. About You Proven experience as a Construction Estimator. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and procurement processes. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail. Strong analytical, numerical, and organisational skills. Experience producing competitive and accurate tender submissions. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Self-motivated and capable of managing your own workload. Desirable HNC/HND or Degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience working for a main contractor, specialist contractor, or fit-out business. Membership of a relevant professional body such as CIOB or RICS.
