About the role Due to growth Avove are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team, working on our Severn Trent Framework. Location: Derby ( we do operative a hybrid work policy) Company Car or Car Allowance Responsibilities: Ensuring contract compliance with Avove s systems, processes, and procedures. Managing financial monitoring and reporting across assigned contracts. Supporting the preparation, negotiation, and administration of construction contracts. Managing contract variations, commercial records, claims, EOTs, and valuations. Overseeing subcontractor procurement, appointments, and ongoing management. Preparing and submitting timely applications and invoices to clients. Supporting business development activities including PQQs and tender submissions. Skills/Experience required: Strong experience working with NEC3/NEC4 contracts (target cost, fixed price, cost reimbursable). Background in both infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, ideally within the water/utilities sector. Strong commercial acumen and experience managing contract frameworks. Proven ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams. Full UK driving licence (regional site visits required). About the role Avove have been appointed as the delivery partner for NI Water's PC-21 Supply Framework, with two years remaining on the current Framework, and tendering for the next five-year Framework underway. This framework involves a range of provisions, from new build capital works and planned maintenance across wastewater and clean water facilities. About the role As a Project Manager, supporting the Avove Ireland account, you ll be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of multiple projects. You will co-ordinate the day to day running of all on-site activities in line with the specific framework requirements. This is a full-time permanent role and will be based at our Newry office with regular attendance to sites along with working from home typically one day a week. What will your day look like • Oversee project delivery and financial performance, identifying risks early and implementing corrective actions. • Plan, coordinate, and supervise programmes of work, ensuring compliance with contracts and timely progress monitoring. • Lead, coach, and support teams and subcontractors to deliver high-quality, safe, and efficient outcomes. • Promote and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, including temporary works oversight. • Manage scope, design acceptance, risk management, and quality assurance processes in line with framework requirements. • Build strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners, ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and excellent customer experience. • Handle change control, cost management, procurement, and contractual obligations to keep projects on time and within budget. • Capture lessons learned, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and training requirements. About you • Proven experience managing the full project life cycle, from initiation to delivery. • Strong organisational skills to co-ordinate day-to-day on-site activities. • Skilled in risk management with the ability to identify and resolve issues proactively. • Track record of delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. • Confident leader with experience managing both internal teams and supply chain partners. • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, partners, and local authorities.
