We are seeking a Section Engineer to join our clients team working across energy projects in the Highlands Responsibilities As a Section Engineer, you will take ownership of a specific section of the project to support site management and deliver technical excellence. Key responsibilities include: Managing and supervising engineering works within your designated section of the project. Ensuring all works are executed safely and align with approved method statements, risk assessments, and company policies. Overseeing setting out and surveying activities to ensure work accuracy and quality, adhering to project specifications. Interpreting and implementing design drawings, technical documentation, and specifications. Coordinating with Site Agents, Project Managers, and client representatives to maintain clear communication and efficient project execution. Leading and briefing site engineers and subcontractors to meet project milestones and quality requirements. Inspecting and testing completed works, maintaining thorough and accurate records to support project QA (Quality Assurance) processes. Preparing and reviewing RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements), ITPs (Inspection Test Plans), and as-built documentation. Identifying and resolving technical or construction challenges promptly and effectively. Maintaining detailed site records, including progress reports and material tracking. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you should bring a combination of technical expertise, communication skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. Qualifications include: A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline. Proven experience working on civil engineering projects such as highways, infrastructure, utilities, groundworks, drainage, or structures. Strong skills in setting out, surveying, and quality assurance. A thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. CSCS card is required; SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid certifications are desirable.

We're looking for an experienced General Foreman in the Highlands delivering critical energy infrastructure projects across the region. The role As General Foreman, you'll be the driving force on site. Working closely with the Site Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of works, making sure everything runs safely, on programme, and to the right quality standard. What you'll be responsible for Supervising and coordinating subcontractors, gangs, and direct labour on site Ensuring all works are carried out safely and in line with the project Health & Safety plan Monitoring progress against programme and flagging any issues early Conducting toolbox talks, inductions, and briefings for site personnel Checking works meet the required quality standards and specifications Liaising with the Site Manager and wider project team on daily priorities Managing plant, materials, and resources efficiently to avoid delays Maintaining accurate site records, including daily diaries and allocation sheets Supporting the identification and communication of any variations or additional works What we're looking for Proven experience as a General Foreman or Senior Ganger within civil engineering A background working on energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements on civil engineering sites SMSTS or SSSTS qualification (SMSTS preferred) First Aid at Work certification Relevant CSCS card A natural leader who commands respect and keeps a cool head under pressure Good communication skills able to brief teams clearly and report upwards effectively Ability to read and interpret drawings and work to specifications

Responsibilities Lead and manage a defined package of work on major energy-sector projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery. Report directly to the Site Agent, providing clear communication and guidance to site supervisors on project requirements and objectives. Take ownership of your section of work, effectively planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily operations. Monitor progress and ensure targets related to quality, budget, and deadlines are consistently met. Manage resources strategically, interpret technical drawings, and resolve project challenges with a solutions-focused mindset. Foster a robust culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance across your team. Work collaboratively with clients, designers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. Mentor and guide junior team members to promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Qualifications Essential: Proven experience in managing teams or specific packages of work within construction or civil engineering. A strong focus on health, safety, and environmental compliance, paired with exceptional organisational skills. Ability to supervise site activities, drive operations efficiently, and provide mentorship to junior staff members. Excellent understanding of project requirements, effective planning, and delivering quality control measures. Valid CSCS Certification and First Aid qualification. Flexibility and willingness to travel across Scotland as needed. Desirable: Experience preparing technical reports, method statements, and risk assessments. Demonstrated commercial awareness and an ability to contribute to business development efforts. Relevant professional qualifications, such as SMSTS or Temporary Works Coordinator certification. Previous experience within the energy infrastructure sector.
