Identity Architect Rate: Up to 495 per day inside IR35 Duration: 3-6 months Location: London (Remote with occasional onsite visits) Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance essential Overview We are looking for an experienced Identity Architect to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of complex enterprise identity solutions within a large-scale transformation programme. This role requires a recognised identity specialist with deep expertise across multi-directory enterprise environments and a strong track record of defining and governing identity solutions. You will act as the technical lead for identity architecture, working closely with senior stakeholders, programme management, development teams, and automation functions to ensure successful delivery against business objectives. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end architecture and solution design for enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) initiatives. Define and own identity solution frameworks, standards, and technical requirements. Develop and maintain target-state identity architectures across complex multi-directory environments. Translate business requirements into scalable and secure identity solutions. Provide technical leadership for identity-related development and automation activities. Steer requirements gathering, shaping technical direction and ensuring alignment with programme objectives. Work closely with Account Leadership Teams and PMO functions to provide technical oversight and maintain delivery progress. Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, ensuring dependencies, risks, and governance requirements are effectively controlled. Oversee identity workflow governance and supporting payloads to ensure alignment with overall programme goals. Provide expert guidance on identity strategy, architecture decisions, and implementation best practices. Support technical assurance, design reviews, and stakeholder engagement activities throughout the project lifecycle. Essential Experience Proven experience operating as an Identity Architect within large enterprise environments. Deep understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles, architecture, and governance. Extensive experience designing and implementing solutions across multi-directory environments. Strong capability in defining technical requirements and translating them into deliverable solutions. Experience leading architecture and solutioning activities across complex programmes. Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders, programme leadership teams, and delivery functions. Strong understanding of identity workflows, governance, and automation capabilities. Experience managing multiple parallel workstreams and coordinating technical delivery activities. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. This role will focus on the design, governance, and delivery of enterprise-scale Azure infrastructure solutions, with particular emphasis on Azure Arc , hybrid cloud environments, automation, and infrastructure-as-code. The successful candidate will provide architectural leadership across multiple Azure environments, ensuring consistency and alignment from development and testing through to pre-production and live production environments. Working closely with the Identity Lead Architect and Azure delivery teams, you will play a key role in shaping a secure, scalable, and automated cloud platform. Key Responsibilities Lead the architecture and design of Azure infrastructure solutions across complex enterprise environments. Define and drive Azure transformation strategies, ensuring alignment with business and technical objectives. Design and implement hybrid cloud solutions leveraging Azure Arc and modern hybrid worker capabilities. Establish and govern Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) deployment frameworks using Terraform and Bicep . Design, oversee, and optimise CI/CD pipelines supporting infrastructure and platform deployments. Ensure consistency and governance across development, test, pre-production, and production Azure tenants. Provide architectural oversight for cloud platform standards, security controls, and operational processes. Collaborate with Identity, Integration, and Infrastructure teams to align Azure services with broader enterprise architecture. Support the integration of iPaaS and identity technologies within the Azure ecosystem. Deliver technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle. Create and maintain architecture documentation, standards, and best practices. Support troubleshooting, optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives across Azure environments. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience operating as an Azure Infrastructure Architect within large-scale enterprise environments. Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud architecture and transformation programmes. Hands-on experience with Azure Arc and hybrid cloud environments. Strong understanding of Azure infrastructure design, governance, and operational best practices. Experience designing and managing infrastructure deployment frameworks using: Terraform Bicep Demonstrated ability to design and steer enterprise CI/CD pipeline strategies. Experience managing and governing multiple Azure tenants across different environments. Strong understanding of cloud security, identity integration, and platform governance. Experience aligning Azure infrastructure with identity and integration platforms (iPaaS). Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
