Contract
We are currently looking for an experienced Site Manager for a major civil engineering project. Site Manager Responsibilities Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, site operatives, plant, and materials. Quantify materials from drawings and raise material requisitions. Interpret technical drawings and specifications to guide on-site delivery. Proactively raise and track RFIs/ EWN and raise internal CE paperwork. Ensure all groundworks activities (excavation, drainage, concrete works, foundations, roads, etc.) are delivered to specification, with all QA records kept up to date. Maintain accurate daily site records and progress updates. Promote health and safety compliance, delivering toolbox talks, inductions, and briefings on method statements and risk assessments. Liaise with clients, contracts managers, engineers, and senior management to provide updates and resolve issues. Oversee site logistics including deliveries, materials handling, and waste management. Ensure plant and machinery are used safely and maintained properly. Prepare and write method statements, risk assessments, and QA documentation as required by the Principal Contractor. Desirable Experience & Qualifications: Background in commercial or infrastructure groundworks. Civil engineering qualification or equivalent. NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management (or equivalent). Must hold SMSTS. PLEASE NOTE - ONLY EXPERIENCED SITE MANAGERS WITH A CIVILS BACKGROUND WILL BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY.
