Salary: £30,000 £35,000 per year Project: TK Maxx Location: Eastbourne Overview We are looking for a driven Assistant or Junior Quantity Surveyor to support commercial operations on a retail project for TK Maxx. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their QS career who is looking for hands-on development, mentorship, and exposure to live project environments. Key Responsibilities Assist with preparing budgets, cost plans, and valuations Support the procurement of subcontractors and materials Help maintain project cost records and financial reports Attend site meetings and support contract administration tasks Assist in measuring works, processing variations, and updating forecasts Work closely with the Senior QS to learn best practices and develop commercial skills Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with project procedures Skills & Experience 0 3 years experience in a QS role (placement year experience also welcomed) Good numerical and analytical skills Confident with Excel and standard QS software Strong willingness to learn with a proactive mindset Excellent communication and organisation skills Degree or ongoing studies in Quantity Surveying (or similar) preferred

Head of Health and Safety Retail Construction Main Contractor Nationwide Salary £75,000 to £85,000 DOE Immediate requirement The role This is a senior hands on leadership role for a retail construction main contractor operating nationwide. You will have full responsibility for health and safety across the business, putting the right processes in place, embedding them into day to day operations and ensuring the company is protected. This is not a purely advisory or compliance role. You will be expected to lead from the front, influence at director level and ensure health and safety standards are consistently delivered across live sites. The business operates nationally with offices in the South Midlands and Yorkshire, therefore travel to sites and offices will be required. Key responsibilities • Full ownership of the health and safety strategy across the business • Designing, implementing and improving company wide health and safety policies and procedures • Ensuring compliance with all UK health and safety legislation and CDM regulations • Acting as the competent person for health and safety • Managing audits, inspections, risk assessments and method statements • Overseeing accident and incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions • Delivering and overseeing health and safety training across the business • Providing practical health and safety support to project and site teams • Challenging unsafe practices and holding individuals accountable at all levels • Liaising with clients, consultants and external bodies as required • Reporting on health and safety performance to senior management • Ensuring the business is protected legally and operationally What they are looking for • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent • Strong construction background with main contractor experience • Proven experience leading health and safety at a senior or company wide level • In depth knowledge of CDM regulations and UK health and safety legislation • Experience implementing systems and processes, not just maintaining them • Confident communicator able to influence directors, managers and site teams • Willingness to travel nationally Desirable • Chartered Membership of IOSH • Retail construction experience • Experience working in a fast paced main contractor environment • Experience dealing directly with national or blue chip clients What is on offer • Salary £75,000 to £85,000 depending on experience • Senior leadership role with genuine influence • Opportunity to shape and lead the health and safety function • Nationwide project exposure • Long term opportunity within a growing business This is an immediate requirement and the business is looking for someone who can step in quickly, take control and raise standards across the organisation.
