We re supporting an outstanding contractor in their search for a Design Engineer to join their Hampshire office. You ll begin by working on a range of local projects, including the restoration and improvement of heritage marine infrastructure, where temporary works play a key role and involve working from barges, pontoons, and scaffolding. The wider business has an established presence across the South Coast, delivering projects for local authorities, private clients, port operators, the Environment Agency, and water companies. Duties include: Develop safe and practical temporary works designs, including shoring, propping, cofferdams, access platforms, and marine structures. Prepare and review design briefs, calculations, drawings, and supporting documentation Provide technical support on-site and assist with resolving design queries during construction. Review internal and external designs to ensure compliance, buildability, and technical quality. Work closely with Temporary Works Coordinators, site teams, subcontractors, and external designers to support timely delivery of works. Ensure designs are integrated into the overall construction sequence, considering access, plant use, and environmental constraints. Identify and manage design-related risks, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and legal requirements. Produce digital design outputs using AutoCAD and structural analysis software, supporting BIM and CDE workflows. Support continuous improvement by contributing to design standards and adopting innovative methods. Engage with clients and internal teams through design reviews, technical meetings, and planning sessions. We re working with a respected contractor to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to lead subcontractor procurement for their Southern Region. The company has a long history of delivering marine projects along the South Coast, from Kent to Devon, helping to protect shorelines, improve ports, strengthen sea defences, and support the region s water infrastructure. With several new projects starting between now and next spring, they have a strong pipeline of work confirmed through 2026. The Quantity Surveyor focuses on managing the procurement and performance of subcontractors to ensure compliance, quality, and efficiency across all projects. You will support the tendering process and continuously improve and maintain the supply chain database. The role is well suited to a Quantity Surveyor who is looking to step away from the day-to-day running of projects and is interested in pursuing an office based role (with hybrid working). Quantity Surveyor Duties: Manage onboarding, qualification, and auditing of subcontractors Oversee tender enquiries, clarifications, and evaluations Ensure subcontractor compliance with HSEQ, insurance, and off-payroll regulations Liaise with project teams to monitor and report on subcontractor performance throughout project lifecycle Support updates to company policies, procedures, and subcontract terms Maintain accurate records and provide senior management with risk insights Apply strong negotiation, procurement, and contract management skills Work in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards Should you have any questions or like to discuss this role please contact Sam Draycott.

Supervisor Civil Engineering East Sussex We have a position for a Site based Supervisor to work with a regional civil engineering contractor on a town centre improvement project. The work includes shallow excavation works, installation of sub base, paving works and associated kerbs and edging. The Supervisor will have responsibility for running 2-3 gangs and be required to ensure works are carried out to specification, quality and to safety standards. Key duties: Oversee work force for site safety, record keeping and on site logistics Support, improve and drive the programme of works where possible Management of direct labour and sub-contractors Carry out plant and tool checks To be required you will need to have a current SSSTS or SMSTS, CSCS and a fit to work medical (or prepared to obtain).
