Quantity Surveyor Main Contracting North East Competitive Salary + Car Allowance + Benefits Lemon Drizzle Recruitment is working with an established North East Main Contractor, part of a successful and diverse wider construction group, to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor. This is a great opportunity for a QS who enjoys having ownership of their own projects and is confident managing the full commercial process from procurement right through to final account. The business delivers projects from end to end, including both new build and refurbishment schemes across the retail, hospitality, education, commercial and industrial sectors, alongside smaller-value civil engineering projects. You ll be joining a small, friendly and dynamic team, where you ll have plenty of autonomy but still benefit from the support, resources and long-term stability that comes with being part of a much wider group. The Role You ll work as a stand-alone Quantity Surveyor, commercially managing multiple projects at any one time and taking responsibility for: Procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers Preparing and issuing subcontract orders Managing applications for payment and valuations Cost forecasting and budget management Preparing and maintaining CVRs Identifying, pricing and managing variations Monitoring project costs, margins and commercial risk Working closely with operational and site teams throughout project delivery Managing subcontractor payments and accounts Attending project and commercial meetings Contract administration and commercial reporting Taking projects through to final account About You I m looking for an experienced QS who is comfortable running their own workload independently and managing multiple projects without needing lots of day-to-day supervision. You ll ideally come from a main contracting background, with experience across new build and/or refurbishment projects. Experience of smaller civils schemes would also be beneficial but isn t essential. More importantly, you ll be commercially switched on, organised, approachable and happy working as part of a close-knit team. Why Consider It? Due to continued growth, they are now looking to add an experienced Draftsperson / Project Designer to their established Drawing Office team. The Opportunity You will join a collaborative in-house design team consisting of a Design Director, Design Manager, and several Project Designers, working closely with Buying , Commercial , and Contracts teams in a truly team-focused environment. This role would suit someone with 5+ years experienc e in roofing and cladding who is comfortable both collaborating with others and working independently to deliver high-quality design packages. Key Responsibilities Produce 2D GA and detailed construction drawings Prepare material schedules and fabrication drawings Attend and contribute to design team meetings (including minute taking) Attend internal handover and design review meetings Carry out occasional site visits Plan and manage workload to meet project deadlines Proactively gather all required technical information Follow established company procedures and quality standards Skills & Experience Required Strong organisational skills and self-motivation Solid technical knowledge of roofing and cladding systems, including: Single-ply Hot melt Standing seam Built-up systems Composite roofing and wall systems Rainscreen façade experience (desirable) Proficient in AutoCAD (2D) and Microsoft Office Exposure to 3D modelling (AutoCAD 3D, Revit, Rhino, or similar) is advantageous What s in it for You?
