Quantity Surveyor The Role The Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial support to project teams, maintaining commercial information and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and the Company s objectives. They will liaise with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims and any additional payments. Key Responsibilities Reporting Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit levels Ensure accurate cash flow reporting takes place Carry out cost management, including forecasting Update the monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans Processes Help ensure that internal commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit Actively seek to improve processes and procedures Hold a good understanding of the processes and procedures used by any client that we are working with About you Essential Previous experience in the construction industry HND/degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying Familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract and knowledge and understanding of Construction Law Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis. Have knowledge and experience in estimation and cost analysis. Key Responsibilities Undertake estimates in accordance with company procedures Identify opportunities and risks during the tender process Maintain tender estimate file Prepare estimating handover packs Monitor quality control and implement corrective actions where necessary. Manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Update managers on supplier performance where required Source, negotiate and purchase goods at the best cost for the business Maintain Supplier relationships Understand and develop bills of materials Take offs - measuring and quantifying the materials and labour required for a project based on designs and blue prints.
