This role is pivotal in shaping and expanding a regional presence, with a strong focus on business development, client acquisition, and leading large-scale masterplanning projects across the UK. You will play a key role in growing the Birmingham studio, contributing to its expansion from 14 to 25 people, while strengthening relationships across London, the Midlands, and the North. Key Responsibilities for this Director level role: Business Development & Client Growth Lead business development activities, identifying and securing new opportunities in masterplanning and large-scale development Leverage existing client relationships and bring new clients into the business Develop and execute regional growth strategies across Birmingham, London, and Manchester Represent the practice at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings Project Leadership Lead the design and delivery of complex masterplanning projects across sectors (mixed-use, regeneration, residential, education, etc.) Provide strategic design direction and ensure design excellence Oversee multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders Studio Leadership Support the growth and development of the Birmingham office Mentor and develop junior and mid-level team members Contribute to team structure, recruitment, and studio culture Requirements for this Director level role: Proven experience at Associate Director or Director level within masterplanning, urban design, or architecture Strong track record in business development and winning work Ability to bring an existing client network and generate new opportunities In-depth understanding of UK markets, particularly Birmingham, London, Midlands, and Manchester Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale masterplanning projects Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills Interested?
