Site Manager Civil Engineering Leicester Location: Leicester, Leicestershire Job Type: Freelance Sector: Civil Engineering / Infrastructure Start Date: ASAP Job Description Bond Recruit are currently looking for an experienced Civil Site Manager to oversee a major civils and infrastructure project in Leicester. The successful Site Manager will have a strong background in delivering civil engineering projects, including highways, roads, drainage, roundabouts, retaining walls, earthworks and associated infrastructure works. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors, plant and labour, ensuring works are completed safely and efficiently, and maintaining project programme deadlines. Key Responsibilities Oversee all civil engineering operations on site, including highways, drainage, roads, roundabouts and retaining walls. Manage subcontractors, plant operators and site teams. Coordinate drainage installations, road construction, groundworks, earthworks and associated infrastructure activities. Ensure works are delivered in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and project requirements. Maintain high standards of health and safety across the site. Monitor progress, manage site resources and report directly to the Project Manager. Ensure quality standards, programme targets and project deadlines are achieved. Coordinate materials, deliveries and plant requirements to maintain productivity. Manage site documentation, RAMS, permits and daily site records. Requirements Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil and infrastructure projects . Strong experience in highways, road construction, drainage, roundabouts, retaining walls and general civils. Previous experience managing subcontractors and multiple work activities on busy civil engineering sites. Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications. Good understanding of engineering drawings, specifications and construction methodologies. Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and site management procedures. Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills. Ability to manage site operations independently and deliver works to programme. The Opportunity Our client delivers a diverse range of specialist construction and installation projects, ranging from £5,000 to £3 million. You'll take a leading role in managing the commercial performance of projects, working closely with the sales and delivery teams to ensure projects are accurately costed, effectively managed and commercially successful. This is a varied, client-facing position offering genuine responsibility, autonomy and the opportunity to become a key member of an established business. What You'll Be Doing Taking commercial ownership of projects from contract award through to final account. Working closely with the sales and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery. Managing valuations, variations, applications for payment and final accounts. Overseeing project budgets, costs and profitability. Managing NEC and JCT contracts. Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers. Identifying commercial risks and opportunities. Providing commercial advice and support to senior management. What We're Looking For We're interested in speaking with experienced Quantity Surveyors from a range of construction backgrounds, including: Main contracting Commercial fit-out and refurbishment Mechanical and electrical contracting Specialist subcontracting Design and build You'll need strong commercial experience, confidence managing your own projects and a good understanding of NEC and JCT contracts . Experience within commercial kitchens or specialist installations would be beneficial, but isn't essential . More importantly, we're looking for someone who is commercially sharp, personable and confident working with clients and internal teams.
