We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a groundworks and civil engineering project based in Edinburgh, working alongside Tier 1 contractors. The successful candidate will have a strong background in groundworks and civil engineering, with proven experience managing site operations, subcontractors, labour and plant on major construction projects. This is a hands-on site management position requiring someone who can take responsibility for the safe, efficient and timely delivery of works while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities - Manage and supervise day-to-day site operations across groundworks and civil engineering activities. - Coordinate subcontractors, site operatives, plant and materials. - Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards. - Liaise closely with the Project Manager, engineers, subcontractors and the Tier 1 main contractor. - Monitor progress against programme and identify potential delays or issues. - Ensure RAMS, permits and site documentation are understood and adhered to. - Carry out regular site inspections and ensure compliance with health & safety requirements. - Manage site teams and provide clear direction and leadership. - Coordinate daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inductions where required. - Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure works meet project specifications. - Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress reports and site documentation. - Assist with planning and coordinating upcoming works, including labour, plant and materials. - Identify and resolve site-based issues promptly and effectively.
