Registered Building Inspector (Class 2F) Sarto Thomas are delighted to be supporting a Local Authority in Kent with the appointment of an experienced Class 2F Registered Building Inspector on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RBI to join a busy Building Control team, working across a varied and challenging portfolio while helping to ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance are maintained. The Role As a Registered Building Inspector, you will: Undertake restricted activities in line with your level of registration and competence Examine plans and carry out site inspections to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations and associated legislation Manage a diverse range of projects from inception through to completion Initiate and manage enforcement action where required Assess dangerous structures and implement immediate remedial measures where necessary Provide specialist advice to colleagues, customers and stakeholders Support and supervise more junior Registered Building Inspectors, including Class 1 RBIs Contribute to the effective delivery of the Building Control service across the authority Requirements To be considered, you will possess: Building Safety Regulator registration at Class 2F Previous experience working within a Local Authority or Building Control environment Detailed knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Building Act, Building Regulations and associated legislation Strong technical and project management skills Experience dealing with complex projects and enforcement matters Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders What's on Offer Excellent day rate Initial contract with strong potential for extension Interesting and varied project portfolio Opportunity to mentor and support junior colleagues Supportive and forward thinking team environment

Senior Building Control Surveyor (Class 2A-2D RBI) Essex 65- 75 per hour Initial 6 Month Contract Full Time Local Authority Sarto Thomas are delighted to be supporting a Local Authority in Essex with the appointment of an experienced Registered Building Inspector (Class 2A to 2D) on an initial contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and supportive Building Control team, working across a varied caseload while helping to deliver a high quality service to residents and developers. The Role You will be responsible for: Examining Building Regulation applications and assessing compliance with relevant legislation Carrying out site inspections and providing technical advice to ensure works are completed safely and in accordance with the Building Regulations Managing a range of projects and maintaining accurate records Investigating complaints and assisting with enforcement activities where required Providing guidance to customers, developers and other stakeholders Supporting the Building Control Manager in delivering an efficient and customer focused service Working to Building Control Performance Standards and statutory timescales Requirements To be considered, you will possess: Registration with the Building Safety Regulator at Class 2A, 2B, 2C or 2D Previous experience working within Building Control Strong knowledge of the Building Regulations, Building Act and associated legislation Excellent communication and customer service skills The ability to manage your own workload and work effectively within a team environment What's on Offer Rates between 65 and 75 per hour Initial 6 month contract with potential for extension Interesting and varied workload Supportive and collaborative team Opportunity to work for a well regarded Local Authority
