NMS Recruit are seeking an experienced Senior Planner/Planner for a leading Tier 1 construction and engineering contractor operating across the UK and Ireland. You will make a real impact on high-profile building projects playing a key role in the successful delivery of complex and diverse construction projects across the region. You will work closely with operational teams from tender stage through to project completion and be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring project programmes, helping to drive successful outcomes whilst supporting continued growth. You will work on a range of exciting projects across sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, residential, and public sector developments. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and manage project programmes from tender stage through to project completion. Produce detailed construction programmes, progress reports, and programme updates. Monitor project performance against programme objectives and identify potential risks and opportunities. Work collaboratively with project teams to develop mitigation measures and recovery plans where required. Support bid and pre-construction teams with tender planning and programme development. Communicate programme performance clearly and effectively to internal teams, clients, and key stakeholders. Provide planning expertise across multiple projects, ensuring best practice and consistency in project controls. Essential Experience Proven experience as a Planner or Senior Planner within the construction industry, ideally delivering complex building projects for a main contractor. Advanced proficiency in Asta Powerproject, with the ability to develop, manage, monitor, and report on detailed project programmes. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project sequencing, risk management, and programme controls. Experience in the preparation and management of tender, pre-construction, and live contract programmes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify programme risks and develop effective mitigation strategies. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present programme information clearly to project teams, clients, and supply chain partners. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the Thames Valley Region as required. Desirable Experience Degree qualified in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or another relevant construction-related discipline. Previous experience delivering education, healthcare, commercial, residential, or public sector building projects. Knowledge and practical experience of NEC and JCT forms of contract. Experience using 4D planning, project visualisation, or digital construction tools. Membership of, or working towards membership of a relevant professional institution. Experience mentoring, supporting, or developing junior planners within a project team. A proactive approach to continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice in planning and project controls. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially minded Vehicle Repair & Refurbishment Estimator to join an established specialist commercial vehicle operation. Working predominantly with refuse collection and waste-management vehicles, you will assess vehicle condition and damage, identify repair and refurbishment requirements, and produce accurate, competitive quotations. This is a varied and practical role where your technical knowledge and commercial judgement will directly influence the quality, efficiency and profitability of each project. The Role You will work closely with technicians, bodyshop professionals, suppliers, customers and management to establish the full scope of work required on each vehicle. From initial inspection through to completion, you will ensure estimates accurately reflect the required labour, parts, materials and specialist services while identifying the most commercially appropriate repair or refurbishment solution. Key responsibilities will include: Inspecting specialist commercial vehicles and assessing their overall condition Identifying mechanical, bodywork, accident-damage and refurbishment requirements Producing accurate and competitive estimates and customer quotations Calculating labour hours, parts, materials and subcontractor costs Liaising with technicians, mechanics and bodyshop staff to confirm the required work Obtaining and comparing prices from parts suppliers and specialist subcontractors Preparing clear and professional estimates for customers and internal teams Reviewing additional work identified during repairs and updating estimates accordingly Determining whether components should be repaired, refurbished or replaced Ensuring estimates remain commercially viable without compromising workmanship Maintaining accurate records of quotations, repair requirements and project costs Communicating clearly with customers regarding repairs, costs and timescales Working closely with workshop and management teams throughout each project Helping to ensure work progresses efficiently and meets customer expectations About You You will be a practical, detail-focused professional with strong mechanical, bodywork or commercial vehicle knowledge and the ability to translate technical findings into clear and accurate estimates.
