Street Cleaning Operative Working as part of a team with responsibility for the cleansing of public areas within a given area. 7 AM TILL3-30 PM Duties and Responsibilities To carry out the instructions of the Charge Hand/Team Leader in a safe, competent and proper manner. Responsible for emptying of litter bins, dog foul bins, collection and removal of unauthorised tipping, dirt, leaves and weeds to maintain clean public spaces within given locations across the district, litter picking Support the Clean and Green section with their exceptional street cleansing needs. To assist with the removal of: Debris from road traffic accidents. Oil and chemical spillages. Dead animals. Snow and ice from footways. Fly tipping. Graffiti. To clean properties internally and externally when required. Responsible for inspecting the bins for repair and reporting damage to ensure they remain in good condition. To ensure public toilets are cleaned as per the rota. Ensure compliance with our practices and procedures in particular the Safe Working procedures for the disposal of hazardous waste. To remove and dispose of hypodermic needles as requested. Assist in the removal and disposal of clinical waste from designated areas. Provide advice and assistance to residents where appropriate. Maybe required to work within other departments such as refuse collection. To complete logs/timesheets and other relevant forms as required during daily operations. Environmental Services Technician Assistant 37 hours per week We require between 10-12 strimmers for grass cutting season which is planned to be between Mid March 2025 and end of October 2025. The job will mainly include working with ground maintenance team but when required operative will be required to work with cleansing team: litterpicking, assisting area cabac drivers and completing specific tasks. Skills GCSE English and Maths or equivalent 2Use of basic electronic communication systems e.g. smartphone, email. Knowledge of basic health and safety standards associated with this type of work Ability to safely operate basic power tools or equipment associated with the tasks of the role. Building Surveyor 37 hrs per week, Monday-Friday . £22.73 per Hour We have a vacancy for a Building Surveyor to work within our Area Surveying team, the Area Surveyors attend our customers homes to inspect reported defects, agree repairs, arrange equipment and order materials to facilitate the completion of work. Building Surveyor The Area Surveying team are required to have extensive knowledge of building defects, able to identify defects, causes of water ingress and remedy causes of damp. We have a zero tolerance approach to mould across our housing stock, and this role will support us in our approach to damp/mould/condensation. Candidates will be required to work from the Office in South Shields, must have a full UK driving license and vehicle by business use insurance. Mileage allowance will be paid. Must have an HNC or equivalent in a relevant field of study, asbestos awareness training, working at height training, and manual handling training. Duties and Responsibilities: Be part of a flexible Area Care Team that is responsible for the horticultural & cleansing, of alleys, soft landscape works and minor structural works in Newcastle.
