Civils / Groundworks Field Supervisor Location: Gravesend / National Travel Salary: £45,000 per annum Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday Contract: Permanent Attega Group is currently recruiting for a Civils / Groundworks Field Supervisor to join an established and growing operation based in Gravesend. This is a hands-on field-based position, overseeing civils and groundworks activities across multiple teams. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, quality and productivity, while providing technical support and guidance to field operatives and the wider scheduling team. The role will be predominantly site-based, with 4 days in the field and 1 day in the office, alongside national travel where required. The Role - You will be responsible for: Supervising and supporting civils and groundworks operations across multiple field teams. Managing and supporting groundworkers and civils operatives to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard. Carrying out regular site inspections, audits and quality checks. Ensuring safe digging and breaking-ground procedures are followed, including permits, utility drawings, RAMS and safe systems of work. Conducting site surveys to assess requirements, identify risks and support the planning and quotation of works. Preparing estimates for civils works when required. Delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings. Monitoring productivity, quality and performance across field teams. Attending client meetings and providing updates on progress, issues and planned works. Providing technical support to scheduling teams around labour, plant, materials and resources. Managing company tools, plant, equipment and stock. Supporting investigations into incidents, near misses, defects and service failures. Supporting the training, development and performance of field-based operatives. There will also be a requirement to stay away from home or undertake night work/site visits when required. What We're Looking For: 8+ years' industry experience and strong knowledge of safe digging, utilities and field-based operations. Workshop Pump Engineer Bedford £40,000 £45,000 DOE Monday Friday 7:30am 4:30pm Full-time Permanent About the Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced Workshop-Based Pump Engineer / Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Bedford. This is a hands-on workshop position, ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys getting stuck into the technical side of the job. You ll be responsible for the inspection, fault-finding, strip-down, repair, rebuild and testing of pumps, motors, fans and other rotating equipment. You'll become a key technical presence within the workshop, helping maintain high standards of repair quality and supporting the wider engineering team with your knowledge and experience. Key Responsibilities Strip, inspect, repair and rebuild pumps, electric motors, fans and rotating equipment. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and identify failed or worn components. Assess incoming equipment and determine whether repair, rebuild or replacement is required. Identify and specify parts including bearings, seals, couplings, impellers, shafts, gaskets and electrical components. Rebuild equipment to a high standard, ensuring correct tolerances, alignment and assembly. Carry out workshop testing following repairs to ensure equipment is safe and functioning correctly. Produce accurate inspection, fault-finding and repair reports. Support the wider workshop team with pump and equipment assembly. Provide technical support to external engineers and internal teams when required. Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment. Contribute to improving workshop efficiency, quality and repair processes. About You We're looking for an experienced engineer with at least 5 years' experience in a similar workshop-based role. You'll ideally have strong experience working with: Pumps and pumping equipment Electric motors Fans and rotating equipment Bearings, seals, couplings, shafts and impellers Mechanical assemblies Mechanical fault finding Basic electrical diagnostics Strip-down and rebuild work Workshop testing and repair Desirable Experience Pump service and repair Water / wastewater Drainage Building services Industrial engineering Rotating equipment Electro-mechanical engineering Formal qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering would also be beneficial. Experience with insulation and continuity testing, motor diagnostics, overhead cranes or forklift equipment would be an advantage.
