Security Officer Hours: Up to 25 hours per week, Monday - Sunday. Shift Rota, Out of Hours On Call duties. Rota Patterned - between 8am - 6pm. Special Events - late finish. Pay Rate: 14.59 per hour PAYE / 19.68 per hour UMB Location: Based at The New Art Gallery, Walsall Duration: Temporary basis, 3 - 6 months with potential to extend. Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our Client, Walsall Council , to appoint a conscientious, resourceful and dedicated Security Assistant to join their security team, ensuring the care, safety and security of visitors, building, and exhibits. Key holder responsible for opening, securing, and locking the building, including alarm operation. Carry out regular building patrols and security checks to maintain a safe and secure environment. Monitor CCTV and control access for visitors, contractors, and deliveries. Respond appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and alarm activations. Support the day-to-day operation of the venue, including event set-ups and maintaining site standards. Essential Requirements Aged 18 or over. Valid SIA Licence. Previous key holding experience, including opening and securing premises. Experience of building security, site patrols, and lock-up procedures. CCTV qualification desirable but not essential. Previous security or door supervision experience preferred. Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy. Strong communication skills with a professional and friendly approach. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Good attention to detail and understanding of security best practices. Apply Now! Markets Operative (2 Positions Available) Location: Markets within Walsall Borough. Rate: 13.69 per hour PAYE Contract: Temporary, 3 Months with potential to extend. Potential for Permanent Opportunities to become available while on temporary placement Start Date: ASAP Opus People Solutions are pleased to be recruiting for 2 Markets Operatives on behalf of Walsall Council . This is an excellent opportunity for hardworking and reliable individuals to join the Markets Team, supporting the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and presentation of markets across the borough. This role involves a variety of outdoor, hands-on duties and requires candidates who are comfortable undertaking physical work in all weather conditions. Working Hours - Split shifts. Part-time hours - unpaid lunch Working days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday Early starts, typically between 4:00am and 6:00am Wednesday shifts generally begin between 4:00am and 5:00am , finishing on site between 4:00pm and 5:00pm (subject to operational requirements) Approximately 6 to 7 hours per day Weekly rotas will be provided directly by Walsall Council Key Responsibilities Setting up and dismantling market stalls Moving and positioning bins across market sites Litter picking and maintaining clean market environments Engaging professionally with market traders and members of the public Reporting issues and updates to the Team Leader and Market Operational Manager Spreading grit and rock salt during icy weather conditions Supporting the upkeep of market infrastructure Cleaning stalls, bins, compounds and communal areas Carrying out basic weeding and general site maintenance Assisting with the smooth operation of market activities Essential Skills & Experience Previous experience undertaking manual or physical work Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and temperatures Full UK Driving Licence Access to your own vehicle for travel between sites Business insurance for use of your own vehicle during work-related travel Ability to work independently and as part of a small team Good communication and customer service skills Confidence when engaging with traders and members of the public Ability to represent Walsall Council professionally Ability to use basic hand tools and equipment Reliable, flexible and willing to undertake early morning starts Additional Information Applicants must be aged 18 years or over Candidates must be able to reliably travel to site locations References will be required before employment can commence Successful candidates will be required to attend an in-person interview at either the depot or Civic Centre If you are a practical, hardworking individual who enjoys working outdoors and being part of a team that supports local markets and communities, we would love to hear from you.
