The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an experienced Confined Space Trainer to join a well-established training provider specialising in safety-critical industries. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in confined space operations, utilities or health and safety to share their technical knowledge and help develop the skills of professionals working in high-risk environments. Working across training centres nationally, you will deliver engaging, practical and classroom-based training, ensuring delegates develop the knowledge and competence required to work safely in confined spaces. The position involves national travel with occasional overnight stays. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality confined space training and assessments to groups of up to 12 adult learners. Conduct practical exercises and classroom-based training covering confined space operations and safety procedures. Assess delegate competence and support learners in achieving their qualifications. Demonstrate the safe use of breathing apparatus, gas monitoring equipment and fall protection systems. Maintain and develop training materials to reflect current industry standards and best practices. Create a positive, professional and engaging learning environment. Skills & Experience Required High Risk Confined Space and Top Person qualifications. Practical experience working in low, medium and high-risk confined spaces. Strong knowledge of confined space safety procedures, permits and site-specific risk assessments. Experience using self-contained breathing apparatus, escape breathing apparatus and chemical rebreathers. Knowledge of gas monitoring equipment and air compressors. Experience using fall arrest systems and safety harnesses. Level 3 Teaching Qualification (PTLLS, AET or equivalent). Full UK driving licence. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage learners of varying experience levels. Desirable Qualifications Level 3 Assessor Qualification (TAQA, A1 or equivalent). NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. Category C1 (7.5-tonne) driving licence. Infrastructure Project Leader Water Pipeline Thames Valley 24-Month Contract Outside IR35 Wolviston Management Services are recruiting for an experienced Infrastructure Project Leader to support the delivery of a new non-potable water pipeline project in the Thames Valley. This is a long-term, client-side contract assignment supporting the delivery of a pipeline of less than 3km, connecting a water treatment plant to customer infrastructure. The Design & Build contractor has already been appointed. The Infrastructure Project Leader will provide day-to-day coordination and oversight of the pipeline workstream, reporting to the client s Project Manager responsible for delivery of the associated water treatment plant. The role will provide recommendations and manage day-to-day interfaces with the Design & Build contractor, while formal approvals relating to scope, budget, programme changes, variations and contractual commitments will remain with the client. The project has an anticipated value of less than £5 million and includes a canal crossing together with a number of land, utility, environmental and third-party interfaces. Key responsibilities will include: Providing day-to-day client-side leadership and coordination of the pipeline project Managing the interface with the appointed Design & Build contractor Monitoring contractor performance against programme, cost, scope and quality requirements Coordinating interfaces between the pipeline and parallel water treatment plant project Aligning programme, design, construction, commissioning and stakeholder activities across both projects Reviewing and challenging contractor programmes, progress reports and recovery plans Supporting cost control, forecasting, variations and change management Maintaining project risk, change, action and decision registers Coordinating route development, utility surveys, ground investigations and crossing assessments Supporting management of land access, easements, permits, approvals and third-party agreements Coordinating stakeholders including water companies, Canal & River Trust, National Highways, local authorities, the Environment Agency, utility owners and landowners Providing oversight of the canal crossing design, approvals, programme and construction interfaces Monitoring design development and coordinating technical reviews where required Monitoring construction progress, quality and contractor performance Supporting testing, commissioning, customer connection and final handover About you We are looking for an experienced Project Manager, Project Leader or equivalent with a strong background in water, pipeline, utilities or civil infrastructure. You should be able to demonstrate: Significant project delivery experience within water, utilities, pipeline or civil infrastructure Experience delivering underground pipeline projects Client-side or client-representative project experience Experience coordinating and managing Design & Build contractors Strong programme and project controls capability Commercial awareness including cost, variation and change control Experience managing third-party stakeholders, approvals and consents Experience with route development, utility interfaces or ground investigation activities Strong risk-management and stakeholder-management skills Understanding of CDM requirements and infrastructure construction risks Ability to work effectively across design, construction, commissioning and handover phases Experience of non-potable or industrial water infrastructure, canal or watercourse crossings, trenchless construction, bespoke Design & Build contracts or Thames Valley infrastructure projects would be particularly advantageous. The role ensures that capital projects are executed in compliance with safety, statutory, environmental and engineering standards while maintaining effective control of construction schedules, contractor performance, quality, costs and site risks. The position acts as the site-based construction authority for the Capital Projects team, ensuring that engineering designs are translated into safe, efficient and high-quality installations that deliver business objectives and support the long-term growth, reliability and sustainability of the Greatham manufacturing site. Roles and Responsibilities: Lead the planning, coordination and safe execution of construction activities across capital projects, ensuring works are delivered efficiently in line with approved schedules, budgets and project requirements while developing suitable construction strategies and coordinating interfaces between operations, maintenance, engineering and contractors to minimise disruption to plant operations. Lead the technical selection, mobilisation and management of contractors and subcontractors, ensuring performance is effectively monitored against safety, quality, productivity and schedule requirements while maintaining compliance with Tioxide standards, site procedures and statutory legislation and driving a strong contractor safety culture through visible leadership and clear expectations. Champion a strong safety culture across all construction activities by ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, COMAH requirements, safe systems of work and company EHS standards, while leading risk assessments, method statement reviews, pre-job safety planning and incident investigation actions to ensure effective control of site risks. Work with Project Engineers and Project Controls to develop and manage detailed execution, shutdown and commissioning plans, monitoring schedule, cost, risk and resource performance while identifying and resolving construction issues, mitigating delivery risks and supporting stage-gate reviews and capital approval processes. Ensure construction activities are delivered to the required engineering specifications, standards and project quality requirements by verifying inspection and test plans, managing punch-list resolution, supporting mechanical completion and handover, and maintaining accurate project documentation and construction records. Build effective working relationships across Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Capital Projects teams, coordinating plant access, shutdown requirements and commissioning activities while providing construction expertise during project development, design reviews and constructability assessments to support future capital investment and site infrastructure strategies. Drive continuous improvement in construction management by strengthening processes, standards, governance and contractor performance, while capturing and applying lessons learned across the capital portfolio to support consistent delivery and site best practice. Experience and Qualifications: Essential Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline. Significant experience delivering construction activities within chemical, petrochemical, heavy industrial, manufacturing or COMAH-regulated environments. Proven track record managing capital projects from construction planning through commissioning and handover. Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations, Health & Safety legislation and contractor management requirements. Experience managing multi-disciplinary contractors and construction teams. Demonstrated capability in schedule management, risk management and budget control. Desirable Chartered Engineer, Chartered Construction Manager or equivalent professional accreditation. SMSTS or equivalent construction management qualification. Project Management qualification (APM, PRINCE2 or PMP). Experience delivering major shutdowns and brownfield capital projects. Knowledge of SAP PM, project controls and earned value management principles.
