Are you a dedicated and experienced Site Manager with a background in Manufacturing or engineering? We are seeking a highly competent and motivated Project Site Manager to join the DS Smith team for a 12-month contract. You will be instrumental in ensuring the successful and compliant delivery of a major Construction (Design and Management) (CDM) project on site, providing essential contractor support and expertise throughout the project lifecycle. Role: Project Site Manager Location: DS Smith Packaging, Mill Road, Devizes, Wiltshire, SN10 3EW Hours: Flexibility is needed as you will be working any 5 days out of 7 from 7.30am - 6pm Salary: 550 - 680 per day This is a hands on contractor management role to support the leadership team during the delivery of a specific project and the ideal candidate will be someone who has previous experience as a project site manager, managing the installation, removal and upgrade of manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities: Permit Management: Issue & closure of permits to contractors RAMS: Review all RAMs and approve or reject Deliveries: Oversee deliveries & collection of materials, vehicles, skips & machinery CDM Management: Update project planner with progress reports, coordinate daily works, daily audits Site Inductions: Delivery of all site inductions General site maintenance: Vehicle checks, responsible for chemicals and flammables Tool box talks Incident/accidents investigations Essential requirements: IOSH Managing Safely Strong understanding of CDM regulations Engineering qualification (Mechanical or Electrical) Experience reviewing RAMS and Construction Phase Plans. Job Title: Sub Agent Site Office Location: Located near AB42 3ED (approx. 6 miles / 12-minute drive west of Peterhead Town Centre). Convenient access from the A90 and Longside Road. Shift hours: 7 am to 7 pm, Monday to Friday. The first 42 hours are paid at the normal rate; everything after that is paid at 1.25. Candidates are also required to work one Saturday a month from 7am to 13:00 pm Pay rate: 240 day rate inside IR35 Role Type: Full-Time About the Role We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent to lead and control a dedicated section of works near Peterhead. Reporting to senior site management, you will lead a team of Section Engineers and Site Engineers, taking full ownership of engineering delivery, safe systems of work, quality assurance, productivity programming, and subcontractor management. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Safety: Lead site safety with a Zero Harm focus, manage and coach engineers, and review/improve RAMS, permits (including Confined Space & Hot Works), and temporary works implementations. Incident & Safety Management: Lead accident/incident investigations, conduct site/field audits, and carry out trend analysis to drive continuous safety improvements. Engineering Control & Quality: Guide engineering staff on complex setting out, oversee technical problem solving, manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), and take ownership of handover documentation (Green Files). Planning & Productivity: Produce fully resourced stage programmes, track KPIs, establish graphical progress monitors, and ensure alignment between section and short-term lookahead schedules. Commercial & Subcontractor Management: Maintain detailed site diaries, manage subcontractor performance/procurement, monitor weekly costs against section budgets, and draft formal commercial correspondence. Key Requirements & Experience Essential Qualifications: Valid CSCS Card, SSSTS or SMSTS, and a full UK driving license. Technical & Management Experience: Strong background leading engineering teams on major civil infrastructure projects (e.g., Earthworks, Drainage, Pavement, Comms, Structures, or Roadworks). H&S & Quality Expertise: Good working knowledge of current H&S legislation, incident investigation processes, RAMS creation, and handover certification. Planning & Commercial Skills: Proven ability to create fully resourced stage programmes, track production KPIs, monitor section budgets, and manage subcontractors.
