Key Tasks: Manage day to day operations on site including the initial set up and the decant process at projection completion; Implement the Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Management procedures at site level; Operate and promote safe working within team; Ensure all works are carried out in line with approved method statements and that they have been briefed to gang and understood; Discuss any changes or amendments to method statements with site manager; Carry out checks on all plant and equipment; Ensure a safe place of work; Forward plan work activities; Lead by example to others on site; Ensure supervision of the team at all times; Read, understand and comply with company policies and procedures at all times; Maintain and produce health and safety records; Ensure our people work to the Cubby Construction values of Quality, Pride, Sustainable and Responsive and respect the public and their surroundings at all times; Ensure safety inspections are implemented and manage the health, safety and welfare responsibilities; establish and maintain a safe site for the full duration of the works; Monitor the daily productivity on site including the sub-contractor performance, resource levels and quality works in progress; Monitor progress against agreed programmes and advise management of any potential programme delays or concerns; Don’t leave team unsupervised, if the need to leave arises, stop the work and contact the Site Manager; Ensure the completion of works is on time; Implement best practice procedures within the team; Share, support, mentor and pass on knowledge to others; Understand the team’s strengths and weaknesses; Ensure all permits are in place and signed before work commences; Forward plan on equipment and material needs; Communicate with site manager regarding equipment and materials requirements at an early stage; Attend team meetings ensuring timely adequate input from subcontractors to the design process and contribute to any issues, health and safety or better ways of working;Gain a full understanding of the detailed design and specification and maintain full knowledge of these during the construction process and ensure the information is shared with the team and relevant subcontractors; Provide an input into monthly progress meetings; Feed back to site management on any plant no longer required; Ensure a safe system of work is used on unloading of any plant or materials; Develop strong relationships with other members of the team to ensure their wellbeing, productivity and effectiveness; Adopt and require of other members of the gang Right First Time work ethic to reduce snags; Manage materials, tools, PPE, equipment, time and waste to minimise inefficiency, waste and losses; Liaise with the site manager on delivery of the tasks and ways where time and cost savings might be made without compromising on safety or quality;Liaise frequently with site manager on performance, productivity, budget and programme targets and future resource requirements to ensure effective delivery; Qualifications/Experience: * SMSTS/ SSSTS, First Aid and Scaffold Inspection training; * Be a self-starter with a strong work ethic; * Be commercially aware; * Be flexible and resilient to meet the needs to the business; * Have a collaborative approach to management and problem solving; * Ensure that communication between all parties is open and honest; * Demonstrate and encourage a no-blame culture to ensure review and continuous improvement; * Understand, demonstrate and buy in to the Cubby values of Quality, Sustainable, Responsive and Pride; * Demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism and customer service when representing the business; * Maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, sub-contractors and Clients; * Provide senior accountability for all allocated projects; In return, we offer a dynamic and supportive working environment with opportunities for continued professional development. Project Manager (f/t – 37.5 hours per week) LOCATION Office base at Hackthorpe, Cumbria or Warrington, Cheshire / Home working / site working as necessary ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the relevant Director, you will be accountable for delivering healthcare design and construction projects through the whole project lifecycle with values from £1m to £100m, ensuring Client and Company objectives are achieved. As an Estimator it will be your responsibility to generate estimates based on construction schedules on multiple bespoke designs and work costings for all raw materials and finished products using 'billing work' and 'dynamic' pricing, for commercial clients Key Accountabilities: * The preparation of multiple pricing quotes for bespoke projects including schedules of quantities of materials, plant, labour and services required in the construction of the building. * Be able to establish the cost of rebate or rate of work for each product required to build the project. * Be able to show clearly, how costs are calculated and accounted for. * Complete full handovers to the rest of the project team once costing has been completed. * Be able to negotiate favourable costs with suppliers * Build solid relationships with suppliers * Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies. * Enabling clients to initiate construction projects. * Explore alternative solutions that meet the clients' requirements to provide competitive advantage This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing organisation and will provide the very best with excellent career development opportunity. Reporting to – Machine Shop Manager Shift – 40 hours, Mon-Thurs, morning/backshift rota. 6am-4:30pm & 4pm–2am alternate weeks. (Shift allowance paid for backshift – 1.33 before midnight / 1.66 after) The candidate will be responsible for the delivery of accurately machined components/fabrications and will be a fully skilled time served CNC operator/programmer (certificates required), preferably using Siemens control but not essential as training will be given. Other requirements include: * Experience of milling machines * Ability to interpret engineering drawings * Ability to use a wide variety of measuring equipment * Ability to pay attention to detail * Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team * Excellent hand-to-eye coordination * Produce accurate, high-quality components with maximum efficiency * Competently set and operate CNC machines * Working to tight tolerances and checking your own work meets the required standard
