Senior Service Delivery Manager (FM Soft Services) Location : Liverpool Contract : Full-Time - Permanent Contract Structure : Monday to Friday - Days but requiring flexibility for operational continuity. Position Summary An excellent commercial opportunity has arisen for a Senior Service Delivery Manager to oversee a critical, multi-tier industrial service and waste management contract in the Liverpool area. The successful candidate will assume total accountability for the on-site operations, financial, and administrative performance of a 24/7 business unit. This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, rail, marine or multidisciplinary construction projects to join a collaborative business that is committed to investing in its people. You'll play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates, developing competitive tender submissions and supporting the successful delivery of a diverse range of projects. The Role As an Estimator, you will be responsible for producing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions while ensuring pricing is commercially competitive and technically robust. Working closely with commercial, engineering and operational teams, you will help deliver high-quality tenders that support business growth. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for civil engineering, infrastructure, rail, marine and multidisciplinary construction projects. Produce first principles and bottom-up estimates, including labour, plant, materials, subcontractors, logistics and productivity outputs. Develop Schedule of Rates (SoR) based on resource build-ups, productivity analysis and construction methodologies. Carry out detailed quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications and technical documentation. Review and interpret engineering drawings, contracts, bills of quantities and project specifications. Support the development of construction methodologies, sequencing, access arrangements and temporary works considerations. Obtain and assess quotations from subcontractors, suppliers and specialist contractors. Identify commercial, technical and programme risks, contributing to tender risk assessments and mitigation strategies. Prepare tender clarifications, assumptions, qualifications and supporting commercial documentation. Collaborate with engineering, planning, operational and commercial teams to ensure estimates are practical, buildable and aligned with project delivery requirements. Maintain estimating databases, benchmark rates and historical cost information. Support value engineering initiatives and alternative construction proposals. Develop knowledge of NEC contracts, framework agreements and client-specific commercial arrangements. Participate in tender review meetings, project handovers and post-tender negotiations where required. Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and industry standards. Maintain a proactive approach to continuous professional development. Experience required: The successful candidate will ideally have: HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent practical estimating experience. Previous experience within civil engineering, rail, infrastructure, marine or construction estimating. Strong knowledge of first principles and bottom-up estimating methodologies. Experience preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQ), Schedule of Rates (SoR) and quantity take-offs. The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
