Caralex Recruitment have been asked by a residential developer to find them a Civil Engineer to join their well-established Technical department. The role will entail appointing, overseeing and managing external civil engineering design consultants involved in various residential developments. You would be ideally a Civil Engineer with a background in design consultancy with experience in the residential sector that can assist in the production of layouts and technical reports, brief and commission site investigations as well as engineering consultants on a range of design works that includes roads, sewers, private drainage etc, alongside other responsibilities. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of section agreements such as Sections 38, 104 & 278 as well as be qualified at an HNC level or equivalent in a Civil Engineering or building-related discipline.

Caralex Recruitment Limited are recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded housebuilder based in Norfolk who are looking to appoint an Estimator. The company is looking for an experienced Estimator who is comfortable in preparing and controlling budgets, maintaining a build cost database, and producing cost plans for new build residential projects. The role is an important position within the commercial team, working closely with the land team on land appraisals for potential sites they are looking to acquire, and the sales team on specification and pricing. You will have either worked for: - a housebuilding development company in an estimating or quantity surveying role, working on land appraisals, cash flows, budgets and costs and familiar with preparing information for the quantity surveying & buying teams. - an affiliated industry such as a groundworks or bricklaying subcontractor, a cost consultancy / PQS firm or for a social housing contractor and have good estimating software experience.

They are looking to recruit a Temporary Works Design Engineer for their Kent office. Candidates will ideally have at least 2 years of good hands-on structural engineering design experience and be able to advise and guide more junior engineers, check their work and also liaise with clients to provide the information needed.

Caralex Recruitment Limited have been asked to recruit a Development Manager to lead the front-end of new build housing projects in London. The successful candidate will have experience of either working directly for, or very closely with, a housing association or local authority in a development role, for example a Development Manager, Assistant Development Manager or Development Project Manager. The role is to oversee and manage development agreements for new housing schemes from inception, through pre-contract stages of feasibility, design, planning and legal matters. It will include monitoring financial changes in the operating environment and the market conditions to maintain the schemes viability. You will need to understand the housing policy that housing associations are operating within and be familiar with liaising with Homes England, local authorities, HA's, residential developers and a wide variety of external consultants (legal, design, planning etc). You may hold a RICS or CIH qualification, however this isn't essential if you already have experience in a front-end focused development role within new build property development and working with their internal land, technical, commercial and construction teams.
