A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for a Project Surveyor to join their Capital Programmes Division - Minor Works / Design & Delivery Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a construction / capital projects environment . The Role Key purpose of the role is to deliver a professional building surveying and technical consultancy service across a range of capital improvement and maintenance projects, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and supporting the Council's corporate objectives.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:• Acting as lead officer on small improvement and maintenance projects, and supporting larger, more complex capital schemes• Undertaking building surveys to assess condition, boundaries, structural issues and preparing AutoCAD drawings• Preparing feasibility studies, specifications and detailed design proposals in line with statutory regulations and local development plans• Managing project budgets from design through to delivery, including financial reporting, cost planning and monitoring contractor performance• Coordinating contractors, sub-consultants and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to required quality standards The Candidate To be considered for this role you will require:• A relevant qualification (HNC/HND, BSc or MSc) in Building Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline• Commercial experience within a construction project environment• Willingness to work towards full membership of a professional body such as MRICS (or equivalent)The below skills would be beneficial for the role:• Experience working within a Local Authority or Public Sector capital programmes environment• Strong knowledge of construction technology, procurement and tendering processes• Experience in budget management, cost planning and contractor performance monitoring• Understanding of project risk management and health & safety legislation• Experience providing advice on sustainability, energy use and carbon reductionThe client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £28 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £22 per hour PAYE) . A client within the Public Sector based in Worcestershire is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their Housing Property Services Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a Housing Property Services environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to support Housing Property Services in the development of appropriate contract documentation and procurement of goods, services and works contracts, whilst being responsible for the financial measurement, valuation and reporting of works across a range of housing projects. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Preparing contract documentation including Tenders, Bills of Quantities, Work Schedules, Specifications and Schedule of Rates • Procuring goods, services and works contracts, including tender evaluation and reporting outcomes • Undertaking site measurements and valuation of works, preparing interim payments and final accounts • Preparing and agreeing costs for variations, non-standard items, claims and final accounts • Producing accurate financial and project-related reports • Assessing leaseholder contributions and service charges and assisting with regulatory and funding returns The Candidate To be considered for this role you will require: • A Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying • Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience within the Construction Industry (pre- and post-contract duties) • Knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulations including CDM The below skills would be beneficial for the role: • Experience working within a Local Authority or public sector environment • Knowledge of various forms of building contracts and standard methods of measurement • Proven experience managing revenue, capital and externally funded budgets • Experience creating and issuing contract administration documentationThe client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £42 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £32 per hour PAYE ). The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a property and estates management environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to support the Council in maintaining and enhancing income from its commercial and residential property portfolio, while delivering professional estate management, valuation, acquisition and disposal services in line with the Council's growth and regeneration agenda. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Managing lease renewals, rent reviews, assignments, alterations and other landlord & tenant matters • Undertaking property valuations for capital accounting, rental, disposal and statutory purposes • Supporting acquisitions and disposals of land and property, including private treaty and auction sales • Providing estate management across commercial, operational and residential portfolios • Supporting regeneration projects and development appraisals The Candidate To be considered for this role you will require: • Degree level qualification in a relevant property discipline • MRICS qualification (or working towards) • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) The below skills would be beneficial for the role: • Experience managing commercial property portfolios within a local authority • Strong knowledge of landlord & tenant legislation and valuation principles • Experience supporting regeneration or development schemes • Ability to manage budgets and deliver value for money • Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skillsThe client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £230 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £180 per day PAYE ).
