The Senior Design Engineer will be an essential part of a highly skilled team responsible for designing and constructing a variety of projects. You will lead a team of design engineers and provide support to Project Managers and delivery teams to ensure that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget. Your leadership and guidance will be essential to the success of the team. ROLE: Assist with formulating the scope of works and developing the design philosophy Work collaboratively with other members of the design team to ensure the timely delivery of information, checking the work of other members of staff and providing assistance to their continued learning and development Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary design environment such that designs consider the impact across all relevant disciplines Undertake calculations by hand using design software such as MEPWorx, ElecOM, Relux, Dialux. Experience preferred but training can be provided Produce detailed design drawings and schematic drawings suitable for construction using CAD Software e.g. AutoCAD, Revit Produce written reports and specifications for works under the supervision of a senior member of the team Undertake site visits and site surveys CANDIDATE: Knowledge of the current standards expected for the principal building services systems used in the industry Awareness of, and willingness to develop a working knowledge of 3D Modelling and Building Information Modelling using Revit Ability to work effectively within a design team environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Competent user of Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of current markets conditions Ability to work under pressure, whilst ensuring deadlines are met A proven commitment to continued professional development Qualifications Minimum requirement of a HNC or relevant degree level. They cover a range of aspect of civil engineering, from bulk excavations to complex civil structures. They are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor/ Estimator to join their team in Ringwood, to carry out groundworks and civil engineering surveying and estimating for new housing projects, reporting to the Commercial Director. You will receive company specific training and support, ensuring that the standard of work produced is not only to the standards required by the client, but meets local and national standard. Main Responsibilities: Point of contact for all surveying / estimating queries, concerns, or actions on a project. Ensure the company is aware/ complies fully with its contractual responsibilities. Assisting in preparation, submission and agreement of contract tenders/ submissions. Working with the surveying/ estimating teams with preparation, submission and agreement of project variations, claims and design changes. Preparation of project forecasts and cost plans. Comply with company and departmental procedures and deadlines. Prepare and submit accurate reports that analyse and demonstrate the profitability and commercial progress of a project.
