We are working with a top 20 ranked UK Quantity Surveying team who are part of a large International Construction Consultancy. They currently have a vacancy for a Senior / Associate Quantity Surveyor to join the business working directly with some of the industry's most-recognised Commercial Property Developers on a variety of Commercial Office, Retail, Leisure, Residential and mix-use property. In addition to this they have a variety of Public Sector projects across Healthcare, University campus and Assisted Living This role presents an excellent opportunity for a career minded Senior/Associate Quantity Surveyor to work for an established practice on exciting fast track projects for a variety of dynamic client organisations. What you will do: * Estimating and cost planning * Production of feasibility studies and estimates from minimal design information, through to detailed cost plans * Preparation of tender documentation * Interfacing with the client and other consultants * Monitor the costs of projects and their progress in relation to the programme * Work according to the agreed technical approach and to the required technical quality standards and procedures * Perform all RICS core competencies and RICS QS Competencies * Participate in APC training including Supervisor role and guidance for candidates, where appropriate * Lead on client liaison and business development. * Attending internal management meetings and monthly BD meetings. * Delivery of capital projects on time and to budget. * Maintain close relationships with key existing clients and addressing any concerns, to maintain high levels of satisfaction Your experience will include: * Extensive professional experience within a consultancy environment * Evidence of leading projects in a client facing role * Experience working on medium to large scale property projects within the Commercial Developer, Industrial, Residential and Corporate Occupier sectors is desirable In return? * Competitive Basic Salary * Bonus * Car/Fuel allowance: all business miles paid * Pension Scheme * Healthcare * Flexible Working

Are you a Quantity Surveyor with a positive attitude to problem solving and overcoming commercial and contractual matters? Can you demonstrate focus and determination to the settlement and agreement of final accounts whilst adding back value through negotiated outcomes? If so we would like to talk to you Our client’s team is doing such a great job on an Energy Framework, they are looking to appoint an additional Quantity Surveyor to work on a seconded basis with one of their long-standing clients. The role will include pre-contract quantity surveying duties such as the preparation of tender documentation, estimates, cost planning and budget preparation. You will be pivotal in supporting across multiple projects as part of a £1.4bn programme of works. With the added benefit of a hybrid working policy, you will be office based 2/3 days a week with a requirement for local site visits as required. The role: Pre-contract * Attend client briefing meetings * Review current scope of works * Cost planning preparation including; inputting, measuring, issuing, and presenting * Review contractor proposals in detail including costs and quantities * Clarify and issue tender addendums if required * Meet with contractors and discuss proposals * Review, query and agree contract sum * Prepare contract documents and share with relevant stakeholders * Ensure the contract documentation is signed and in place before commencement on site Post-contract * Attend prestart meetings * Prepare and issue monthly valuations * Prepare and issue monthly cost reports * Administer and issue variation instructions, contract documents, tender documents and contract amendments. * Attend progress meetings and issue minutes * Deal with day-to-day actions and correspondence as required * Control and manage all financial, programme and contractual issues arising * Prepare and present monthly cost reports to the client * Carry out valuations and prepare recommendation for payments * Agree and value any variations * Agreement of final account after completion of the works * Oversee and run projects from conception to completion, managing and controlling the costs of the scheme on behalf of the client. Experience Required - * Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying * A full member of the RICS or working towards your Chartership * 2 – 3 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor ideally within the energy sector * A good understanding of the NEC suite of construction contracts – ideally options A, B, and C * Familiar with cost planning and tendering practice and procedure * Ability to procure and administer contracts with multiple projects whilst working with main contractor and sub-contractors * High attention to detail focused on successful project delivery * Excellent stakeholder management skills with a keen desire to build and maintain client relationships * Able to become embedded within a team to drive forward positive results In Return - They offer a fun and positive place to work, excellent remuneration including a competitive salary, a discretionary bonus scheme, plus loads more benefits. Duration – Minimum 6-month contract with possibility for extension on a 2-year project Location – Manchester or Crewe – Hybrid working policy – 2 days max in office We’re ideally looking for Commercial managers with experience of working on rail infrastructure signalling projects but will consider wider rail infrastructure project and programme experience.
