Description The role of a Commercial Assistant Manager is to support the overall delivery of high quality, safe, and well maintained commercial retail, entertainment venues and external areas across the Butlins diverse residential estate. This includes hard FM responsibility for multiple Retail venues, splash water-world, Funfair, Entertainment venues and all external grounds and gardens. Working closely with the Commercial and Estate Facilities Manager, the role ensures exceptional guest experience through effective day to day coordination, property and estate standards management, and efficient reactive maintenance and preventative maintenance planning. The postholder leads and motivates a team of specialist and multiskilled technicians , providing direction, workload scheduling, performance oversight, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and statutory standards. They play a key role in maintaining venue operations readiness, responding to technical issues, delivering small works, and supporting long-term asset care strategies. This role requires strong operational leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple facilities simultaneously while upholding brand standards and ensuring a seamless retail and entertainment experience for guests and team members alike. This role requires excellent contractor management skills as the role plays a key part in liaising with 3rd party contractors and suppliers for specialist works across resort. Experience & Qualification Requirements Level 3 qualification in Facilities management, hospitality management or building/property maintenance or equivalent experience. IOSH managing safely certification Full UK driving licence NEBOSH General certificate (desirable) Proven experience in commercial building operations or facilities management ideally within a resort/ holiday park or multi-site retail and leisure hospitality environment. Experience supervising a technical or maintenance team Experience managing contractors, supplier and service partners Knowledge or awareness of : Legionella awareness Fire safety awareness Asbestos awareness EHO audit awareness Planned preventative maintenance schedules Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Description Technician - Specialising in Carpet and Floor Fitting. The role of a Facilities technician is to perform diverse maintenance and repair tasks in residential or commercial areas across the business, specialising in Carpet and floor fitting along side covering minor plumbing (leaks/toilets), electrical (bulbs, smoke alarms and fuses) carpentry (shelves, doors and cabinets. Painting, decorating and general upkeep like gardening or appliance installation, requiring practical skills and service that require a broad skillset. General Duties & Key Accountabilities Maintenance & Repairs examples Fixing dripping taps, unblocking sinks, repairing door handles patching holes in walls. Replacing light fixtures, bulbs, and fuses Hanging pictures, installing shelves, curtain rails assembling furniture and basic cabinet works Fixing toilets, toilet cisterns and clearing drains Painting and decorating minor areas, preparation and making good Groundskeeping including basic gardening, cleaning gutters and changeable weather preparation Carpet and Flooring examples Accurately measure and estimate materials required to complete task Ensuring area is prepared, remove old materials, clean, level and repair sub floors Lay underlay where required, cut, stretch and secure flooring using grippers, adhesives, tacks All material laid are in line with Brand Standards Safety & Compliance Ensure all tasks are carried out ensuring H&S requirements are meet, including but not limited to use of PPE, ensuring machinery is handled appropriately and manual handing requirements are adhered to Risk assessments are reviewed and adhered to Regular safety inspections are carried out Support incident response when required.
