Job Title: Senior Mechanical Estimator Location: Postcombe, Oxfordshire Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 per annum The Role: Preparing detailed cost estimates for Mechanical Building Services projects. Pricing design-and-build mechanical packages typically valued between £500,000 and £3 million. Reviewing drawings, specifications, tender documentation and employer s requirements. Completing accurate material and labour take-offs. Producing enquiries for suppliers and specialist subcontract packages. Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations. Building competitive tender prices covering labour, materials, plant and specialist packages. Identifying value engineering opportunities, commercial risks, qualifications and exclusions. Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the tender process. Managing tenders from initial enquiry through to submission. Attending site visits, tender meetings and project clarification meetings where required. Providing a clear handover to the commercial and project delivery teams following successful tenders. The Ideal Candidate: -5 years experience as a Mechanical Estimator. -Previous experience working for a Mechanical or M&E Contractor. -Strong knowledge of Mechanical Building Services and new-build construction. -Experience pricing design-and-build mechanical packages. -Strong understanding of plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, sprinklers, dry risers, renewables and BMS controls. -Able to interpret drawings, specifications and technical tender information. -Good understanding of labour, material, plant and subcontractor costs. -Trimble Estimation software experience is highly desirable. -Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. -Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail. -Confident communication and negotiation skills. -Able to manage multiple tenders and work effectively to deadlines.
