Site Construction Manager Location: Teesside, UK Reports to: Head of Projects & Design Hours: 40 hours per week (site-based) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Site Construction Manager to oversee the safe and successful delivery of mechanical and electrical construction projects. As a Site Construction Manager you will manage subcontractors, coordinate site activities and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day construction activities on site. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget. Supervise subcontractors and specialist suppliers. Coordinate civil, mechanical and electrical installation activities. Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and all SHEQ requirements. Maintain site health, safety and environmental standards. Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks and safety inspections. Issue and manage Permit to Work (PTW) and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW). Monitor quality standards and inspect completed works. Verify compliance with approved designs, Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). Liaise with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and design clashes. Coordinate site resources to maximise efficiency. Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) as required. Manage temporary works in accordance with approved procedures. Maintain accurate site records and project documentation. Support the Project Manager in achieving commercial and programme objectives. Skills & Experience ONC/OND, NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. SMSTS, NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification. Valid CSCS Card. Minimum 5 years' experience delivering mechanical and/or electrical construction projects. Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations, SHEQ requirements and ISO quality standards. Experience managing subcontractors on live construction sites. Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor qualification (desirable). Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills. Commercial awareness with a focus on safe, efficient project delivery. Ability to work independently and build effective relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
