Outside IR35 subject to assessment Our client has a requirement for a Project Manager, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Hampshire within the Water industry Role Purpose of the Project Manager To manage and oversee site-based project activities on a water project, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Project Manager will lead, mentor, and coordinate the site team while maintaining strong communication with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Job Role Responsibilities: Manage, supervise, train, and mentor the site team to optimise individual and collective performance. Review contractual agreements and collaborate with the Client, Contracts Manager, and specialist suppliers to develop working methods, programmes, and cost forecasts, identifying any inaccuracies or inconsistencies. Prepare project programmes and forecast budgets; monitor actual progress and productivity weekly, taking corrective action as required, and report changes to the Contracts Manager and Commercial team. Maintain full understanding of all specialist contract conditions. Proactively manage the construction programme, ensuring adequate and appropriately skilled resources are deployed to meet project requirements. Liaise with site and commercial teams regarding non-conformances, variations, and contractual correspondence. Maintain comprehensive records of labour, plant, and materials used on additional works. Ensure inspection and test plans, risk assessments, and method statements are reviewed, approved, and adhered to. Supervise site teams and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery. Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications: Essential: Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, supported by vocational training in Engineering. Strong understanding of engineering principles. Knowledge of construction contract law and practical experience with various forms of contract. Extensive technical knowledge of modern construction techniques and best practices. Valid and relevant CSCS card. Formal training in Health, Safety, and Environmental management. Desirable: Degree in Civil Engineering. Chartered or Incorporated status (MICE). Membership of the Association for Project Management (MAPM). Proven vocational experience in project management. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing goods, materials, plant, equipment, and services on time, within budget, and to the required specification/quality. Key Responsibilities Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) as a Buyer. Negotiate commercial terms, conditions, and levels of service (including KPIs) with suppliers. Manage critical path items through to delivery. Measure the effectiveness of the procurement function against actual tender allowances and adjust accordingly. Prepare, develop, and monitor Project and Regional level Buyer/Procurement Plans. Assist with the development and implementation of standard subcontract documentation. Assess and approve suppliers. Maintain and enhance the IFS database and other software and processes. Assist in resolving any queries raised by the Supply Chain, including invoice queries. Develop and maintain close working relationships with all key stakeholders. Ensure subcontractors have the appropriate levels of insurance and maintain records. Input to departmental procurement procedures where required. Take part in internal and external audits where required. Undertake and provide Buyer-specific training for IFS if needed. Ensure continuous professional development by participating in external networking, conferences, and training. Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work. Overview One of our top nuclear clients are looking for a Site Manager to start ASAP. Our Client has a requirement for a Site Manager, who will be required to work on a Contract basis in Plymouth. Role Purpose Be able to maintain adherence to high standards of Safety, Environmental, and Quality Requirements. Demonstrate construction site management experience, preferably (but not essential) in a regulated environment such as MOD/Nuclear/Ports etc. Job Role Responsibilities To ensure the requirements of conventional Health & Safety Legislation are met by compliance with Project procedures. To ensure that the work package construction proceeds in accordance with the Project programme whilst meeting the requirements of the Project quality goals and safety case requirements. To identify and manage specifically those areas that represent significant risk to the work package through proactive interface management. To closely liaise with the required stakeholders to ensure all requirements are communicated and agreed. Receive and distribute documents in accordance with Company & project procedures. To liaise with sub-contractor and Babcock Document Control sections regarding the issue and receipt of drawings and documents. Establish and maintain a tracking register of all documents and drawings and revisions on CDE. To receive and issue preliminary drawings, documents and schedules to ensure that the sub-contractor/partners have up to date information for planning and construction purposes. Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications Be local to or within daily commuting distance of Plymouth and be available to attend site 5 days a week during construction. Be available to work 07:30 -17:00 (45 hr week) during construction, with a standard 37.5 hr week outside of peak periods. Be CITB SMSTS certified. Site Engineer Major Energy Infrastructure Project (North East, UK) We re seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale reinforced concrete package on a major energy infrastructure project in the North East. The role involves providing technical and engineering support across multiple reinforced concrete structures, including turbine halls, condenser plants, and carbon capture facilities. Key Responsibilities Support the safe and efficient delivery of complex concrete and earthworks operations. Uphold site safety standards by identifying risks, addressing unsafe acts, and ensuring compliance with environmental and quality requirements. Carry out setting out for reinforced concrete structures and associated works. Assist in material management, including take-offs, stock checks, and order coordination. Prepare and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring works are executed to the required standards. Conduct site inspections and contribute to progress reporting. Work collaboratively with the wider project team to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and programme targets. Support planning and coordination activities, identifying potential efficiencies and reporting these to the site team. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior or graduate engineers as required. Requirements Proven experience in civil or structural engineering, ideally on major reinforced concrete or energy/infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of health, safety, and quality management systems. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends when required. Valid CSCS card (appropriate level for role). Full UK driving licence. Positive, proactive attitude with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
