Mechanical Site Supervisor (Authorised Person) Contract: Inside IR35 About the Role We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Mechanical Site Supervisor (Authorised Person) based in Beckton. Reporting to the Senior Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and controlling all mechanical AP site activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, to specification, and within programme. You will play a key role in maintaining quality standards, ensuring all inspections, testing, and documentation are completed throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Support the Site Manager in maintaining a safe working environment for employees, subcontractors, and visitors. Achieve and maintain Authorised Person (AP) status through the company's Mechanical AP assessment process. Ensure all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental documentation is received, reviewed, and maintained at the latest revision. Carry out and manage mechanical isolations in line with project requirements. Manage and maintain Mechanical Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). Review project documentation to ensure works are fully defined and understood before execution. Review and provide feedback on Method Statements and Work Instructions. Supervise works to ensure compliance with approved procedures and specifications. Monitor and record project progress using drawings and other reporting tools. Identify, record, and manage non-conformances and improvement opportunities, ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Ensure a high-quality installation is achieved with all ITPs completed as works progress. Experience Previous experience working within the Energy, Utilities, Water, or Industrial sectors. Strong understanding of pipework fabrication, welding, and mechanical installation. Ability to assess welding quality and inspect mechanical works. Experienced in snagging and punch-listing pipelines using Isometric, GA, and P&ID drawings. Previous experience operating in an Authorised Person (AP) role. Skills & Knowledge Strong understanding of mechanical installation and commissioning processes. Knowledge of inspection, testing, and quality assurance requirements. Ability to interpret technical drawings and project documentation. Excellent communication and site supervision skills. Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and quality. Qualifications HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, or Recognised apprenticeship in pipework and welding, supported by relevant industry experience. Are you an experienced Quality Inspector with a background in civil engineering and infrastructure projects? We're looking for a Quality Inspector to join a major project in Middleton, supporting the delivery team through independent site inspections and promoting a strong quality-first culture across the project. The Role Carry out site inspections during construction and on completion of works. Ensure works are delivered in line with approved designs, specifications and quality requirements. Identify, investigate and report quality issues and non-conformances (NCRs). Support the implementation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). Review quality documentation and handover packs. Provide coaching and guidance to site teams to help achieve right-first-time delivery. Attend site meetings and work closely with engineers, subcontractors and project stakeholders. Support ongoing quality audits and site surveillances.
