Field Compliance Supervisor (Civils / Fibre) - Midlands region - Field based role Competitive salary + Overtime + Company Vehicle Full time, Permanent We are looking for a Field Compliance Supervisor now as part of our Technical Infrastructure Services division of Network Services. This is a field based role that will see you travel on site across the Midlands region. The Field Compliance Supervisor will be responsible for the Openreach Fibre Build Networks contract deliverables ensuring these are delivered as planned by Telent and its partners / suppliers. This includes confirmations of resources on site, dealing with any in-life, real-time issues and flagging any requirements for "jeopardy management". You will see all programmed works on-site through to completion, meeting set KPI's and SLA's. As the Field Compliance Supervisor, you will support Civils & Fibre gangs employed by Telent's suppliers locally to ensure all safety, compliance and quality standards are being met through, a defined audit and inspection regime as set out by the Infrastructure Services business. The Field Compliance Supervisor will ensure compliancy of works across Cabling, Poling, Civils and again, the Fibre Build itself. The area to be covered is the Midlands. You will be Telent's customer ambassador in the field assisting all contract deliveries by enabling the programming of all works in the Telent workstack through the resolution of access and fluidity issues. What you'll do: Support the delivery of the Project Plan by working with Cluster Leads and Project Managers, ensuring cost-effective solutions and project fluidity. Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures, evaluating existing programs and making necessary improvements. Ensure suppliers have the agreed gangs on-site daily and all programmed work is attended to. Prioritize safety by ensuring all activities follow safe working practices and are supported by the correct documentation. Monitor suppliers to maintain a 'right first time' quality culture, ensuring compliance with Openreach installation standards. Build effective relationships with suppliers and local Highways Authorities, ensuring high levels of street works compliance and reinstatement quality. Resolve local access issues with the public and businesses, managing wayleave and permission to dig processes. Attend Joint Site Meetings with asset owners and suppliers to unlock work fluidity. Respond promptly to urgent safety issues, supporting the resolution of defects within required timeframes. Conduct regular compliance audits and ensure adherence to internal and external regulations. Oversee site setups, confirming safety standards and granting 'permission to proceed' where appropriate. Assist in the training and onboarding of operatives, ensuring all vehicles and materials meet safety and environmental standards. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve escalated issues and manage temporary works in line with Telent's processes. Travel to Chorley / other UK wide locations to complete required training as part of the Field Compliance Supervisor role (overnight stays may be required) Complete any necessary works out of hours or on weekends to meet KPI's / SLA's as part of the role and contract deliverables Who you are: You are a skilled Field Compliance Supervisor with experience overseeing civils, poling, or cable / cabling gangs in the highways networks or telecoms networks sectors. You're confident in managing field-based operations, ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards. Your strong problem-solving skills help you resolve access issues and ensure smooth project delivery. With key certifications like NOPS (networks Operative Passport Scheme), NRSWA Supervisor Level and SA001A, you're ready to contribute to the success of Telent's Fibre Build Programme across the Midlands. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working with suppliers, local authorities, and the project team to meet delivery goals. This role blends strategic commercial oversight with hands-on post-contract cost and contract management. You will operate within the SCADA Portfolio, focusing on cost management for a cost-plus project. This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to attend our Warwick HQ on a weekly basis. What you'll do: Manage all aspects of project cost control from handover to final account Prepare and issue client applications in line with contract terms, ensuring timely certification and payment Identify, price, and agree changes with clients, support justification, delay claims and associated quantum Commercial responsibilities of subcontract activities from inception to final account. Provide commercial input across the full contract lifecycle-from bid to closure or extension Support bidding and delivery teams in assessing and managing commercial risk Resolve disputes and claims in Telent's best interests Produce monthly cost/value reconciliations and forecasts Support monthly contract reviews and senior management reporting Identify opportunities to improve margin and reduce commercial risk Lead cost management on a cost-plus project, with a focus on time evidencing and AfP justifications Who you are: You will have senior level experience in a QS / Cost Controller type role, ideally gained within the Rail / Construction / Civil Engineering / Utilities industry. Key Requirements: Proficient in a variety of contracting templates (e.g., NEC3/4, JCT, ICC) with a strong knowledge of Cost Reimbursable contracts and experience recovering disallowed costs.
