Our client is seeking a Roofer on an initial 3 Month contract with the possibility of an extension. Working Hours and Pay Rate: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:00. At a pay rate of £13.00 - £16.00 p/h Job Purpose: We are seeking a motivated person to join our In-House Repairs Team to carry out roofing improvement works to our housing stock across the district. You will be joining a busy team which undertakes stripping and replacing property roofs across a diverse range of occupied and vacant properties. Skills and Experience: 5 years+ experience in strip and re-roofing on old and modern properties. Knowledge and Experience of Dry Roofing. Experience of working in a customer /tenant facing environment. Desirable experience is new soffit and fascia's. To undertake all works to the required standard in accordance to current regulations following manufacturer's instructions. Working to the required timescales. To liaise with the Asset Management Support Team to ensure job activities are scheduled effectively. To utilise all tools, accessories and equipment issued in an appropriate manner. Comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures. We are looking for a motivated, knowledgeable and experienced individual who is committed to delivering high quality services to a variety of customers. You'll lead on ensuring that our programme of heating system replacement and other mechanical services are delivered on time and within budget so you will need to be organised and able to multi-task. Your role will see you administer, supervise and inspect new and existing mechanical services installations. You will also oversee a wide range of mechanical servicing work in City Council properties of all types. We will look to you to deal confidently and pro-actively with queries where you will be able to show us your problem-solving and decisionmaking skills. Our ideal candidate will have well-developed project and contract management skills as well as a good working knowledge of health and safety and building regulations. You will be overseeing annual mechanical service improvement programmes well as developing and maintaining the mechanical asset register and asset numbering systems. In addition, you will be asked to provide specialist technical and professional advice/ support for all building works programmes. Duties of the role: Reporting to the Principal Internal Works Surveyor, you will take the lead in ensuring the effective delivery of services within time and budget. Predominantly this will be the administration, supervision and inspection of new and existing mechanical services installation and upgrading work within City Council property (either as part of improvement programmes or as individual projects). You'll also oversee annual mechanical service improvement programmes (budget estimates and specifications for works) as well as develop and maintain the mechanical asset register and asset numbering systems. In addition to ensuring appropriate certification/ document is obtained for all works carried out (including accurate, statutory record-keeping), we will look to you to provide specialist technical and professional advice/ support for all building works programmes. Experience: Substantial experience of all aspects of Mechanical services derived within the construction industry with a proven trackrecord of undertaking detailed mechanical installations condition survey assessments on a system by system basis (including equipment, systems and plant identifying defects, repairs and lifecycle) and experience of providing designs and specification for contractor design tender documents.
