They have recently won several new schemes and are keen to recruit a talented Site Manager. The contractor specialises in the luxury prime residential market, with clients including Grosvenor Properties, The Historic Houses Association and a who’s who list of famous and wealthy clients. They cover an area around Mayfair, Belgravia and Knightsbridge carrying out projects up to £10m in value. The schemes predominately involve structural refurbishments and very expensive finishes. The contractor’s business model is extremely well managed, with a reputation for producing a quality project on time and budget, which results in a large amount of repeat business. The role The Site Manager will be expected to work positively and collaboratively with clients. To make Health, Safety and the Environment their first priority in all decisions and actions. To plan, manage and deliver all construction activities in an efficient and cost effective manner that causes least disruption. Demonstrate a positive ‘can do’ attitude at all times whilst understanding the impact of decisions on all aspects of the project / contract. To report openly and honestly at all times, acknowledging problems, analysing and providing seeking solutions. Be a positive team builder, care for their staff and actively engage in staff feedback and development. To take responsibility and ownership for the project. Requirements Our client is looking for someone that can communicate well (good client skills), Experienced at managing subcontractors, as well as maximising and getting the best out of the site team. The Site Manager will have a background and be extremely competent at bring in a project to time, quality and budget. The Site Manager will be capable of managing a project up to £4m in value. Experience of structural refurbishment schemes, as well as very high end finishes. Preferably from a carpentry background with an SMSTS and a CSCS card. Talented Estimator required, would consider an Estimator on a self-employed basis Davis Mills has been instructed to resource an experienced Estimator for an established specialist formwork, civil engineering and groundwork’s subcontractor. They have earned a reputation for their quality of work and integrity in dealing with clients, surveyors, professional associates and suppliers. They have worked hard to earn their satisfaction and respect. It’s their goal to develop a long-lasting relationship with main contractors through honesty and professionalism. They are keen to recruit a talented experienced Estimator to be at their head office in the Brighton area. The Estimator will be involved in the preparation and tender return of quantified tenders from specifications and drawings or bill of quantities, prequalification’s questionnaires and also pre tender meeting, as well as internal handover meetings. The Estimator’s key duties: Prepare annotated computerised schedules and Bills of Quantities from clients Specification and drawings Prepare and price tenders from either clients or own prepared Bill of quantities Prepare and send out material enquiries Analysis of suppliers quotations To liaise with Clients / Suppliers as required during the tender process The Estimator will be expected to liaise with the site team during the preparation of the Handover and distribution of tender documents on secured projects. Estimator’s key attributes: Experience of tendering for Formwork / civil engineering / groundworks Capable of preparing BoQ’s from specifications and drawings Good understanding of Excel
