If so, we could have the role for you… Working with an established floor fitting contractor based in Burnley with over 10 years’ experience, specialising in all areas of flooring, from carpet and solid wood to vinyl and safety flooring – we are looking for a fantastic Floor Fitter to join the team. These guys pride themselves on their exceptional level of workmanship, they really strive to build strong relationships with their clients to be the go-to company for everyone’s flooring needs! We are looking for someone who is motivated, proactive, a little creative and enjoys their work, someone who is confident and responsible and has the right attitude! This would be the perfect opportunity for someone who maybe is working self employed but is looking for more stability. As a Floor Fitter your role and responsibilities will be: Measuring up floor space and estimating the amount of material needed Designing styles / being creative and planning what fits in with certain styles Preparation of all types of sub floor (LVT / Karndean / Amtico, etc.) Fitting of vinyl, flat lay, cap & cove, etc and installation of carpets and carpet tiles Installation of carpets and carpet tiles Cleaning, levelling, and sealing the bare floor with compound if required Providing a responsive and professional floor laying service to customers, ensuring a high level of customer service is always delivered Maintaining and monitoring the supply, stock and use of materials, ensuring only quality materials are utilised for any repair work undertaken To be a successful Floor Fitter, you’ll need to have the following skills, experience and attributes: Experience in a similar role is essential but on the job training will be provided Enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn and follow direction A confident, positive, pro-active and ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to work well alone as well as part of a team Be an effective communicator with both colleagues and customers Have excellent problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail Be a highly organised, capable, motivated, proactive individual Must have driving licence and a blue CSCS card In return you will receive £30,000 - £36,000 plus excellent benefits including a company van and fuel card, 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) full work uniform, a Christmas bonus as well as shut down along with various team building activities through the year. You will be a junior board member within a business that is highly regarded within the UK timber sector. Your main responsibilities will include health & safety, managing a diverse production workforce who manufacture a large range of timber products, a large yard with significant amounts of raw material stock and the personnel to operate within it. This is a hands-on role and will suit you if you are accustomed to a flat management structure rather than managing through complex layers of management. You will be picking up a diverse and complex timber business and managing a large multi-skilled, multi-disciplined workforce.
