Our client is the UK’s largest commercial scale flat roofing construction firm. We currently seek an experienced contracts manager to join their head office (West Midlands) on a permanent/staff basis. Applicants must have 1) flat roofing construction experience 2) NVQ 4-6 3) CSCS Black, Gold or White 4) full UK driving licence and 5) SMSTS TITLE: CONTRACTS MANAGER PURPOSE: TO ORGANISE AND MANAGE CONTRACTS TO ENSURE QUALITY, SAFETY, PROGRAMME AND GROSS OBJECTIVES ARE ACHIEVED REPORTS TO: BRANCH MANAGER SUBORDINATES: OPERATIVES KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: To organise and control directly employed and sub-contract labour. To prepare timesheets and approve sub-contract labour invoices. To programme works to suit agreed programme. Maintain health and Safety standards on sites, ensuring that work is carried out in strict accordance with Method Statements and Risk Assessments. Assess tasks, to produce, amend or add to Method Statements and Risk Assessments as required. To ensure Safe Starts/Finishes, Hot Works Permits and Gas Torch Permits are being carried out daily as required on all projects. To ensure plant, craneage, materials, labour and sub-contractors are organised and ordered to meet programme requirements. Check quality, ensuring that work conforms to specification and drawings. To record variations and advise QS. To monitor project costs against estimated/predicted budget. To monitor materials on site, organising procurement and call-off’s with Office. To co-ordinate deliveries with Main Contractor’s on-site systems. To attend meetings with Main Contractor as required. To keep paperwork records for Quality Assurance. To check and record labour outputs against timesheets. Supervise sub-contract labour to ensure work meets our requirements. Attend Company safety meetings and training. To give weekly Toolbox Talks to labour and sub-contractors. AUTHORITY LIMITS: Costs to be agreed prior to starting contract. Approved sub-contractor and supplier selection in accordance with our procedures Approval only of sub-contract labour invoices Approval only of timesheets KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE OF POSITION HOLDER. Incumbents need to be articulate, numerate and demonstrate competence in: Adaptability/Business Awareness/Detail Handling/Initiative/Planning and Organising/Flat Roofing industry/plant/safety/communication. CSCS gold card holder (minimum). Experience of the building and construction industry is essential. General computer awareness. SMSTS. NVQ 4-6

We seek an experienced contracts supervisor on a permanent staff basis to cover projects throughout the Southern regions of England. Applicants must have 1) commercial scale flat roofing experience 2) SSSTS qualification 3) CSCS Gold, white or black 4) a full UK driving licence TITLE: Contracts Supervisor HOLDER: PURPOSE: TO ORGANISE AND SUPERVISE CONTRACTS TO ENSURE QUALITY, SAFETY, PROGRAMME AND GROSS OBJECTIVES ARE ACHIEVED. REPORTS TO: Contracts Manager SUBORDINATES: Operatives KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: To organise and control directly employed and sub-contract labour. Ensure works are installed as per approved working drawings and specification. Liaise with Company employed subcontractors and ensure work meets our requirements. Maintain a good working relationship with both our operatives and the Main Contractor/Client. To organise plant, craneage etc to meet programme and cost plan. Attend site meetings as required. Maintain Health and Safety on site. Attend Company Safety Meetings/Training. AUTHORITY LIMITS: Costs to be agreed prior to starting contract. Approved contractor selection in accordance with our procedures. Approval only of subcontract labour invoices. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE OF POSITION HOLDER. Working Knowledge of the flat roof industry. Experience of the building and construction industry would be beneficial/essential · Read drawings and take measurements. General computer awareness. Our client is a Construction specialist and the seek to appoint an experienced plant fitter to maintain their specialist waterproofing and roofing machinery. This is a permanent staff appointment based in the Dagenham area. Applicants must stay within a 20 mile commute. TITLE: Plant Fitter HOLDER: To be appointed TO ENSURE ALL PLANT AND EQUIPMENT IS SERVICED, MAINTAINED AND KEPT IN GOOD WORKING ORDER ALONG WITH ENSURING ACCURATE RECORDS ARE KEPT AND MAINTAINED. ADHERING TO COMPANY AND ADDITIONAL SITE RULES AT ALL TIMES REPORTS TO: Branch Manager SUBORDINATES: None KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: To assist in organising plant & materials and maintain stores keeping a tidy well planned Yard. To ensure gas torches as recorded / serviced and in good working order To Maintain/service asphalt mixers, rubber melters, bitumen pots, asphalt pots, any compressors generators if applicable including on site call outs. To ensure all portable appliances and electrically safe, PAT tested in accordance to company specifications and / or site regulations. Load and unload vehicles using fork lift truck. Purchase spare parts for plant. Provide and maintain safe operating manuals for rubber melting mixers. Assist in training operatives in the safe operation of rubber melters. Assist in providing and maintaining safe operating manuals for asphalt melters. Assist in training operatives in the safe use of asphalt mixers and bitumen products. Ensure all plant in in good, safe working order before they are on site e.g. pre-site reports. Aid with logistical distribution of mixers for all branches. Ensure all inspections, repairs and maintenance is recorded using the company app. Must be articulate, numerate and demonstrate competence in plant fitting, Driving license essential. Ensure ALL FORS requirements are met, this includes but is not limited to paperwork & training. Ensure all Risk Assessments and safety requirements are adhered to at all times. Maintain a good working relationship with both our operatives and Office staff members. Attend in house quarterly safety meetings as required. Maintain Health and Safety on site. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE OF POSITION HOLDER. Incumbents need to be articulate, numerate and demonstrate competence in: Adaptability/Business, Awareness/Detail, Handling/Initiative/Planning and Organising Plant/Safety/Communication. Working Knowledge of the flat roof industry preferable. Experience of the building and construction industry would be beneficial Experience of working within a FORS accredited company, understanding of FORS · Good knowledge of Driving in and around the City of London essential. ·General computer awareness, word / excel. ·Fork lift licence.
