They are looking for experience Site Managers/Construction Managers ideally with previous DC experience. Engineering Construction Manager (Data Centre) – Frankfurt Freelance/Contract – 3 months plus Rate: £280-£330 per day plus flights, accommodation, travel, food and more We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Construction Manager to join a main contractor in Frankfurt for 3 months minimum working on an exciting major data centre development. We are looking for a degree educated construction professional that has a strong background as an engineer on major developments, then moved into a management role. The successful candidate will have a degree in civil or structural engineering and is familiar with working away from home. Temporary Works Coordinator Contract: Permanent or freelance Salary/Rate: £65k-£75k permanent, £300-£350 per day Location: East London We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator to join a leading main contractor on an interesting major £100m+ grade listed building development in East London. This is a long term opportunity so ideally we are looking for someone on a permanent contract, but would consider a freelancer. Key accountabilities To provide expertise regarding the design of TW The TWC should be the first point of contact between the designers and the site team. The TWC will be responsible for ensuring the Temporary Works Procedure is implemented on site. The TWC will ensure that all TWs within their appointment scope, are identified, recorded, classified, risk assessed, checked and managed in accordance with JV procedure. The TWC will maintain the site specific TW Register with new, ongoing, completed and accepted by the client and will sign off the permit to load. The TWC must ensure that TW are physically inspected during construction providing checklists where required, and are responsible for reviewing actual conditions against conditions assumed in the TW design The TWC will ensure that all TW are adequately and safely designed, constructed and used, ensuring that those people responsible for the construction of the TW receive full detail of the design To assist the project team in their production of ‘as-built’ documentation and the Health & Safety File. Essential: Degree qualified in civil/structural engineering or similar discipline, ideally chartered At least five years’ experience of construction of comparable temporary works, with a minimum period of one year design experience. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in delivering new build construction projects in the Science and Healthcare sectors to value circa £300m The candidate should have good knowledge of the NEC form of contract and the planning requirements that this form of contract requires including Programme for Acceptance, EWN's and CE's. The candidate will work closely with the project team to ensure all aspects of the project including design, procurement, delivery and commissioning are planned and monitored. They must incorporate key deliverable milestones into the programme and monitor these deliverables. This will include the use of systems such as BIM360 field or similar and the ability to generate 4D programmes using Synchro would be desirable. The candidate should be confident to chair planning meetings and contribute at client project meetings. They will need to be able to react quickly to project pace and change, be able to make valid assumptions, challenge design, be able to work alone from information and have confidence and the ability to back up the programmes. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a willingness to share skills and knowledge to other members of the project team and enhance internal and external relationships. Effective communication skills are important to this role as the candidate will liaise with project teams, sector colleagues and external parties such as clients, consultants and suppliers. It is expected that the candidate will be able to lead and guide and mentor a mid- level planner and contribute to the recruitment of suitable assistant planners as the project progresses if required.
