Senior Quantity Surveyor - Bristol We are working with a major Tier One main contracting group to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team delivering major public sector backed works in the South West region, initially project based in Bristol. As SQS you will be responsible for all financial aspects of the project working closely with the Project Team to control all commercial contractual matters. Deliver desired margin return utilising high standards of commercial acumen. Role and Responsibilities: Attend tender presentations for new projects, contribute, lead commercially and present During proposal stage, prepare the budget and prelims build up, obtain and vet trade contractor bids, compile the company information section for the proposal document and collate the overall document Prepare trade contractor bid list in conjunction with the Project Manager and obtain approval via team meetings Confirm project insurance arrangements Prepare and monitor bid package tender schedule and report against the cost plan where required and advise on selection of trade contractors Advise client on contract procurement routes available Prepare and monitor Subcontract Procurement Schedule, compile trade contract bid documents and carry out tender analysis and issue purchase orders Place orders and instruct / manage trade contractors. (Including compiling subcontracts/works contacts/trade contracts) Advise on product selection, specifications and assist with the value engineering Manage change orders in conjunction with the Site/Project Manager Prepare, submit and agree monthly costs reports, collating information from other Project/Assistant surveyors as necessary Prepare, submit and agree periodic valuations for work completed to date with trade contractors and the client including preparation of rolling final account & subsequent final account agreement. Prepare Cost/Value Reconciliation (CVR), create regular budget and price updates, update computerised cost control system and prepare the monthly cost and progress report for Directors responsible. Risk & Cash Management. Involvement in BD / developing relationships with key clients & design teams Skills & Experiences: Must be passionate about work, committed to excellence and continuous improvement both personally and divisionally. This would suit a candidate who has previous experience working with a leading construction company in a similar role. Logistics Manager responsibilities - will include: Planning/Programming · Plan site set-up to move labour, plant, and materials around site efficiently (e.g. hoarding, gates, site accommodation, cranes, hoists, security, temporary services and material delivery. · Plan internal and external logistics routes through the project phases focusing on separation of vehicles, machinery and people. Lay down areas and offloading points. · Together with the site Project manager and health and safety adviser, write a Construction Logistics Plan and/or Construction Traffic Management Plan in accordance with Local Authority requirements and submit it to the Local Authority for approval. Once approved ensure that the site work within the agreed plan. Supply Chain Management · Write to all suppliers describing the characteristics of the site, including site access /egress, storage capacity and arrangement by programme, labour, hoists, cranes etc. Include the requirement for all deliveries to be made in compliance with the Traffic Management Plan. · Control materials in and out of site by scheduling deliveries to specific time slots. Site communications · Create a system to communicate information around the site e.g. noticeboards, email distribution lists, monitor displays, web pages. Delivery management · Manage all movements to and from site and keep associated records. · Enforce the full use of the organisation's delivery management system. · Ensure suppliers use appropriate vehicles for delivery. · Control materials in-and-out of site by scheduling deliveries to specific time slots. · Ensure that drivers and vehicles meet the required standards before being accepted to site. Materials · Ensure materials delivered to site agree to the delivery documents and keeping associated records. · Process the receipt of materials on the Purchase Order system - match the delivery documents to the original purchase order. · Maintain a written record of the issue of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to individuals. · Logistics Vehicles, plant, equipment and vertical transport · Specifying and managing plant and equipment used by Logistics and maintain an asset register. · Ensure that these vehicles and plant are operated safely by trained personnel and in a legally compliant manner · Ensure all Logistics equipment is inspected upon delivery and fit for purpose. This Tier 1 major main contractor are currently in the structural / shell & core phase of a £19M valued new build hospital on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. They have identified the need to supplement their on-site management team and recruit a Site Manager and Site Supervisor to join them for a 6 Month contract. Successful candidates will be required to have worked on large projects over recent years, on behalf of a main contractor. Clearly recent project experience in hospitals & healthcare schemes would be ideal, however they will also look at candidates with recent experience in large scale commercial, education or major sports facilities. Accommodation on site is available on site but we are ideally looking for candidates which are located north of the border to undertake the contract. We require a Site Manager to undertake the following responsibilities and also require a Site Supervisor to support the Site Manager in executing these requirements.
