The role - Please read carefully The areas to cover are London and Kent. This role requires a MINIMUM of city and guilds NVQ level 2/part 2 in commercial air conditioning & refrigeration, plus F-GAS. Other competencies like SMSTS, SSSTS, PASMA & IPAF are an advantage. Vehicle with fuel card. Minimal personal use, tracked, speed limited. Client supplies a Samsung galaxy note smart phone for calls and our electronic job system. This role would also provide a laptop. Starting salary is £34k - £38k (Overtime available) with 20 days holiday, plus statutory Working hours are door to door minus 1.5 hours. (half an hour unpaid each way travel, and half an hour unpaid lunch) minimum day door to door is 9.5 hours. Overtime is paid at time and a half, or double time for nights/bank holidays. Overtime is typically worked by all engineers but our fatigue management policies do not allow us to exceed 12 hour shifts except for emergencies. On call rota is 1 week every 10 weeks approx. This is paid at £125 for the week regardless of any call outs. Minimum call out is x4 hours. All specialist refrigeration tools are supplied, but hand tools are the responsibility of the candidate. Hand tools include thermometer and multimeter with amp clamp. Drugs and alcohol testing plus railway medical would be required before any official job offer given. The work A large amount of our work is on railway contracts. Training and competencies will be given for the railway working as this is essential. The sites include signal centres, data centres, maintenance depots, traincare depots, stations, remote relay rooms trackside. The work includes air conditioning, vent and mechanical. Splits, VRVs, chillers, AHU's LTHW and chilled. Responsibilities Supervisor will be time served and experienced in all aspects of building services and HVAC. The candidate will be confident in working on varied equipment. Supervisor will be fully qualified to the minimum of City & Guilds Commercial air conditioning & Refrigeration level 2 and also hold Category 1 F-Gas 2079 or equivalent in other trades. Supervisor will assist management in direct oversight of service department's daily operation. Supervisor will participate in assigned long-term contracts, programs and projects. Supervisor will be directly involved in the work delivery department's routine operations by handling repairs/installs and assisting management with administrative duties. Supervisor will perform on site duties where required. Supervisor will prepare quotations for a variety of work. Supervisor will prepare relevant safety documentation for engineers as required. Supervisor will develop and maintain effective working relations with Service director and work closely with the service director toward common goals. Supervisor will work to the company's management and quality systems. Supervisor will advise on equipment, materials and subcontract resources. Supervisor will carry out certain tasks with targets to satisfy certain key performance indicators. Supervisor will advise on procedures and identify where change could enhance operational efficiency and productivity. Supervisor will assist in assigning, training & developing the engineering team. Supervisor will work closely with the administration team to ensure quotations are prepared and submitted to the clients promptly. They are after an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team in Exeter who will have a wealth of knowledge in commercial refurbishment and fit out projects. Day-to-day duties and responsibilities will include: Surveying of works and production of quotations Leading or assisting in the pricing and submission of tenders Assisting and completing PQQ and SQ submissions Production of project H&S information including CPPs and RAMS in liaison with H&S Management team Producing and managing project programmes and timelines Management of directly employed staff and sub-contractors Management of on-site H&S including undertaking of site audits/inspections in line with company standard procedures Attending project meetings and production of various reports and project documentation required Contributing to work planning, and briefing project teams, contractors and suppliers Managing and carrying out of commercial valuations on projects and agreement of project accounts Work closely with other internal departments (commercial. H&S) and external (client, design team) to ensure the contracts are delivered on time and within financial budgets. Role will be office based however there will be a requirement to make regular site and client visits (within a region, nationally or internationally, depending on the construction project). THE PERSON Ideally minimum of 5yrs proven track record of managing numerous contracts with values between £100k-£4m Ideally degree qualified in construction management and/or commercial background and experience/knowledge in quantity surveying would be useful.
