An established multi-disciplinary design & build private practice is seeking a Chartered Civil Design Engineer to join them at their Head Offices in SE London. The role will be working on predominantly rail design projects so experience in this sector is essential. Works may typically include bridge design, building design and/or refurbishment (stations, depots, etc), including railway platforms, drainage, car parks, arch viaducts, all from feasibility through GRIP1-GRIP8 (Forms F001-Forms 1997 etc), and for London Underground by way of CDS/DCC/CDF, etc. You will be required to mentor more junior members of staff and to ensure good engineering design delivery from drawing practices to document control and management. Good client facing skills is essential, together with the ability to chair and minute key meetings with all parties. Previous Experience Structural / Civil design, buildings, roads, rail and contract administration, drawing and contract document preparation (ability to do and also to delegate to others), site supervision. Overview A planning and development surveyor investigates plans and manages proposals to either build new developments or organise the regeneration of existing sites.
