2 X Signalling Principle Designers needed - Remote Working
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
· All-round underpinning knowledge of signalling design principles, standards, components, and fabrication methods.
· Advanced knowledge of railway systems, (and the key interactions between other railway assets), and with railway operating practices.
· Responsible for Signalling packages of work on multi-disciplinary projects.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge:
· Hands-on experience of the production and verification of signalling design throughout GRIP stages 2 to 5 and calculations. Other railway design experience within the rail industry will be an advantage.
· Significant experience in the use of signalling software packages (Plans, Gwire, etc) will be an advantage.
· Knowledge of RRI or Mechanical or SSI systems, ideally all three. Basic knowledge of the design of other systems or Data Prep. would be an advantage.
· Experience of signalling construction methods and installation would be a benefit.
Qualifications:
· IRSE Licence 1.1.550 Signalling Principles Designer
· IRSE Licence 1.1.160 Signalling Design Verifier would be an advantage
· Ideally, a member of the IRSE
· Appropriate National Certificate (NC) or Higher qualification would be a benefit

This individual should have the following attributes:
1. A good understanding of HVAC & domestic H&CW Systems
2. A minimum of 5 years' experience working in a multidisciplinary MEP team
3. Experience of working on projects from £100k to £5.0m
4. Willing to work between office (London) & Home
5. Have a recognised Mechanical Qualification - HNC or equivalent would be preferred but not necessary.
6. A good understanding of varies procurement routes including Design & Build
7. The ability to work with BSRIA Stage Information and develop a tender from design to a tender estimate.
8. The ability to develop Value Engineering Options as part of the tender process
9. The ability to support the PCM in developing preferred Supply Chain schedules
10. The ability to populate tender control sheets & comparison sheets
11. The ability to identify risk & opportunity on all projects and work with the PCM to develop mitigation strategies.
12. The ability to produce cost plans from limited information including scope documents and GIFA m2
