This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work for a market leading well respected, well established Property developer in Doncaster, it would suit somebody who likes to be out on site most of the time in different locations and is looking to progress within a company They specialise in developing modern and stylish residential apartments from unused or unloved commercial buildings. Their track record demonstrates that they can produce high yielding and high value developments on a large scale. Project Values Range from between £100k - £6 million The Role of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be working within a fast paced, dynamic department. This is a full time position, working Monday to Friday and will involve a lot of driving from sites across the North and the Midlands. The salary is competitive with added benefits such as pension scheme, Westfield healthcare and discounted gym membership. Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor Main area of work will be agreeing variations with main contractors QS’s across 20 different live sites ranging from £100k -£6 million across the North of England and the midlands. Visiting each site half of the time and half of the time inputting data in to systems. ·Assist with issuing tender enquiries, taking off drawings and producing BoQ’s. · Regular visits to live sites to assess subcontractor progress and agree valuations. · Produce cost and value reports for each project and update in connection with costs to date on a monthly basis - including forecast final account. · Attend pre-let meetings with Project Manager and proposed contractors to liaise on upcoming projects and agree details of subcontract order. · Analyse returned tenders and complete cost comparisons prior to procurement. · Track change management on projects and assess costs associated, obtaining quotes for additional works. · Work with the Technical Director and other members of the team to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget. Skills Required of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor · Good Knowledge of the JCT · Full Driving Licence and prepared to travel sites across the North and Midlands. (half of the time although minimal days staying away) Must have experience of refurbishments. The role of the Production Manager will involve: * Reporting in to the MD of the business. * Managing the production schedulers and team to produce £400k worth of fabricated Aluminium and windows per week. * Ensuring products are completed correctly to measurements * Ensuring they have low wastage * Managing a team of 12 people * Working with commercial team to buy raw materials * Managing all health and safety across the site * Full management of production process. * Planning, scheduling, programming of works. ·Ensuring production is completed on time and to quality standard * Suggesting and implementing process improvements. My client are a well-respected, well established fit out and refurbishment company with work across the UK. They are looking for a site manager to join a large team on a large fit out working for a tier one main contractor, this role involves been on site all day and doesn’t involve been in the office dealing with paper work. This is a tough job with a demanding client and will require somebody who is patient and diplomatic. The main area of the job will be to manage a screeding contractor The Site Manager role will involve: Liaising with other Project managers and site manager to ensure work is completed on time and in budget Been on site ensuring the parts of the job that are finishing are done so in an efficient way. Ensuring all sub contractors are working to program and managing the health and safety around them, Liaising with on a daily basis the main contractor Filling in Rams Ensuring site is managed for Covid 19 and all health safety Dealing with issues on site with some element of fire fighting This is a tough demanding job, it will all be based out on site pushing the job along Working 10-12 hour shifts (you will be paid extra for the longer shifts) Will work one every three weekends The ideal Site Manager candidate: Will need to have in date SMST and 3 day first aid. Will need either an in date Black Management CSCS card or a red experienced technical manager card. The Maintenance Assistant role will involve: Attending units and creating a list of repairs and improvements that will be required.
